Gang Busters
''Gang Busters'' is an American dramatic radio program heralded as "the only national program that brings you authentic police case histories." It premiered on January 15, 1936 and was broadcast for more 21 years through November 27, 1957. History Magazines of the true crime variety were highly popular in the 1930s and the film '' G Men'' starring James Cagney, released in the spring of 1935, found a large audience. Producer-director Phillips H. Lord believed that there was a place on radio for a show of the same type. To emphasize the authenticity of his dramatizations, Lord produced the initial radio show, ''G-Men'', in close association with FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, who was not favorable to the idea of such a program, but U. ''Gang Busters'' is a 1942 Universal movie serial based on the radio series ''Gang Busters''. Plot The city is terrorized by a crime wave masterminded by the elusive, soft-spoken Professor Mortis (Ralph Morgan) from his base in a forgotten cavern beneath the rails of the city's subway line. He declares over the radio that The League of Murdered Men will exact revenge upon the city unless all the city officials, especially the mayor and Chief of Police, are turned out of office. Mortis's gang members were officially pronounced dead in prison after having supposedly committed suicide (in reality taking a drug that suspended animation) but later revived by medical genius Mortis, who recruited them to do his bidding. ''Tiny Toon Adventures'' is an American animated television series created by Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Entertainment. It aired for three seasons between 1990 and 1992, accounting for a total of 98 episodes. Most episodes are either divided into three seven-minute segments with wraparounds before each segment, or a single segment of approximately 22 minutes; eight episodes use a "two shorts" format. Besides the 98 episodes, two specials aired: "Tiny Toons Spring Break" and "Tiny Toons' Night Ghoulery". Gangbuster is a comic book fictional character, a DC Comics superhero. He first appeared as Jose Delgado in ''Superman (comic book), The Adventures of Superman'' #428 (May 1987), and as Gangbuster in ''The Adventures of Superman'' #434 (November 1987). He was created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway. Rebekah is the niece of the original Gangbuster. ''Gangbusters'' is an American crime anthology television series that was broadcast on NBC from March 20, 1952, until December 25, 1952. It was cancelled even though it had the eighth-highest rating of that season's TV shows. Format Like the radio program ''Gang Busters'', the TV ''Gangbusters'' was created by Phillips Lord. Content of episodes was factually based and included interviews with professionals in law enforcement. Lord narrated the episodes, which used a "semi-documentary style" to dramatize actual cases taken from files of law-enforcement agencies. Viewers saw "the criminal in action, his problems, his psychology, his fears."
