''Gandharvam'' is a 1993 Indian Malayalam-language romantic thriller film directed by Sangeeth Sivan and written by Dennis Joseph from a story by Alex I. Kadavil and Sangeeth Sivan. It was produced by Suresh Balaje and stars Mohanlal and Kanchan (in her only Malayalam film) and Shankar,Jagathi Sreekumar, Vijayakumar, Devan, Prem Kumar and Kaviyoor Ponnamma appears in supporting roles. Sangeeth Sivan
Sangeeth Sivan (1958/59 – 8 May 2024) was an Indian film director and screenwriter who worked in Malayalam film, Malayalam and Hindi film, Hindi film industries. He is best known for directing ''Vyooham (1990 film), Vyooham'' (1990), ''Yodha (1992 film), Yodha'' (1992), ''Kyaa Kool Hai Hum'' (2005) and ''Yamla Pagla Deewana 2'' (2013). Career Sivan started his career when Basu Bhattacharya brought him on board as the executive producer of his son's directorial debut ''Raakh'', starring Aamir Khan and Pankaj Kapur. Kanchan is a former Indian actress and model. She has appeared in Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam films, primarily in the 1990s. Subair (25 May 1962 – 18 August 2010) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema industry. He was part of Malayalam films for nearly two decades and acted in around 200 films. Personal life Subair was born in the village of Chokli, Thalasserry in Kannur District, Kerala, India as the son of Sulaiman and Aysha. He died on 18 August 2010 due to a cardiac arrest. Kaviyoor Ponnamma (10 September 1945 – 20 September 2024) was an Indian actress who appeared in Malayalam films and television. She began her career performing in theatre dramas before foraying into cinema. She also acted in TV serials and commercials and had playback singing credits in few films. Ponnamma was a four-time Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress winner. Her sister Kaviyoor Renuka was also an actress.
