Games Academy
The Games Academy is a privately held vocational school dedicated to the development of video games. History It was founded in 2000 by Thomas Dlugaiczyk in Berlin, making it the oldest video game-focused school in Europe. In 2007, a second establishment was opened in Frankfurt am Main. In autumn 2019, at the world's largest games fair, Gamescom, the Games Academy and the Mediadesign Hochschule (MD.H) announced their merger. In this context, there was a change in the managing director; since 2020, Martin Adam has been in charge of the Games Academy. Besides QANTM and Supinfogame, it is one of the few institutions in Europe that are entirely focused on video game development. Gamescom
Gamescom (stylized as gamescom) is a trade fair for video games held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Since 2018, it has been organised by ''game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche'' (English: Association of the German video game industry); and before that, by the ''Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware'' (BIU). It supersedes Games Convention, held in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. Gamescom is used by many video game developers to exhibit upcoming games and game-related hardware. Supinfogame
Supinfogame is the first French school fully dedicated to the videogame industry. Located in Valenciennes, it is one of the three schools of Rubika, with Supinfocom and International School of Design. Based on a chamber of commerce initiative and launched in 2001, Supinfogame trains students in game design, game art, management and game programming. Each year, 40 baccalaureate laureates pass the test to start the 3-year first Cycle, in Management/Game Design or Management/Game Art Section. The second cycle is open to candidates with an HND level (equivalent to a Bac+2 or Bac+3). The number of students in the Second cycle is 25 places for Management/Game Design, 20 places for Management/Game Art and 16 for Management/Programming. The diploma delivered is recognized by the French Government and its title is : Videogame Director. It is a Bac+5 diploma. Ostfalia Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften (German for "Eastphalia University of Applied Sciences", known as Fachhochschule Braunschweig/Wolfenbüttel until 2009), is a Fachhochschule in eastern Lower Saxony, Germany. The Braunschweig University of Art (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, HBK) is the second largest College of Fine Arts in Germany.
