''Game Costs'' is the first album by the rapper PSD. It was released on September 16, 1997, for Swerve Records and was produced by Baby Beesh, PSD, Jay Tee, Funk Daddy, Dave G. and Johnny Z. ''Game Costs'' found little success outside of the Bay Area and did not make it to the ''Billboard'' charts. The album includes the popular track "Every Damn Day" (a.k.a. "Every Damn Day I Smoke Dank") which, over the years, has been wrongly attributed to another Bay Area rapper, Mac Dre. In fact, Mac Dre had no part in the track's production. PSD (rapper)
Steve Davison, better known as PSD, PSD Tha Drivah or Stevie Dee, is a rapper and producer from Vallejo, California, US, who is closely associated with the late Mac Dre. Career PSD tha Drivah first appeared on Mac Dre's 1996 compilation album ‘The Rompalation’, appearing on the track "Menage A Trois" and "Ghetto World", and producing the stand-out tracks "Uninvited" and "Gumbo". After that, he would appear on N2Deep's 1997 album ‘The Golden State’ and release his debut album ‘Game Costs’ that same year. PSD tha Drivah would later release several more albums: ‘Bread Head' as well as 'What It Is’ in 1999, 2002's ‘All I Want’, 2003's ‘You Ain't Heard of Me?’, and 2005's ‘The Guru’ and ‘PSD Classic’ before finally making it to the Billboard charts with 2007's ‘Da Bidness’, which was released with Messy Marv and Keak da Sneak. Gangsta Rap
Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, emerged in the mid- to late 1980s as a controversial hip-hop subgenre whose lyrics assert the culture and values typical of American street gangs and street hustlers. Ronald Ray Bryant (born October 18, 1969), better known by his stage name Baby Bash (formerly Baby Beesh), is an American rapper. From 1995 until 1998, as part of Dope House Records, after which he changed the last part of his stage name to "Bash." His first album ''Savage Dreams'' (2001), was followed by '' On Tha Cool'' (2002), and his first major label release: ''Tha Smokin' Nephew'' (2003). Jay Tee
James Trujillo, better known by his stage name Jay Tee, is a rapper, songwriter and hip hop producer from Vallejo, CA. He has been a part of the city's scene since the early 1990s as the lead member of N2Deep and Latino Velvet along with Baby Beesh. Even though N2Deep's 2000 album '' Slightly Pimpish/Mostly Doggish'' was a solo album, it was not until 2001 that Jay Tee released a solo album under his own name, '' So Cold''. Latino Velvet was originally composed of Jay Tee and Baby Beesh in 1997 on the album '' Latino Velvet Project''. Although the album featured several tracks with Frost and Don Cisco, it was not until 2000 that they were featured on the cover with equal billing to Jay Tee and Baby Beesh. Mac Dre
Andre Louis Hicks (July 5, 1970 – November 1, 2004), known by his stage name Mac Dre, was an American rapper from Vallejo, California. He was an instrumental figure in the emergence of hyphy, a cultural movement in the Bay Area hip hop scene that emerged in the early 2000s. Hicks is considered one of the movement's key pioneers that fueled its popularity into mainstream, releasing songs with fast-paced rhymes and basslines that inspired a new style of dance. As the founder of the independent record label Thizz Entertainment, Hicks recorded dozens of albums and gave aspiring rappers an outlet to release albums locally. On November 1, 2004, Hicks was killed by an unknown assailant after a performance in Kansas City, Missouri, a case that remains unsolved.
