Gallagher Convention Centre
The Gallagher Convention Centre is a convention centre in Midrand, South Africa and is the seat of the Pan-African Parliament. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cape Town-based investment holding company Hosken Consolidated Investments. Midrand is a town in central Gauteng, South Africa. It is situated in-between Centurion, Gauteng, Centurion and Sandton. Formerly an independent municipality, Midrand now forms part of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. The Pan-African Parliament (PAP), also known as the African Parliament, is the legislative body of the African Union. It held its inaugural session in March 2004. The Parliament exercises oversight, and has advisory and consultative powers, having lasting for the first five years. Initially the seat of the Pan-African Parliament was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but was later moved to Midrand, South Africa. Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951.
