Galina Polskikh
Galina Aleksandrovna Polskikh (; born 27 November 1939) is a Soviet and Russian film actress. She has appeared in more than 100 films since 1962. In 1979 she was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia, and in 1999 Order of Honour (fourth degree). Polskikh became famous after playing lead roles in such Soviet films as ''Walking the Streets of Moscow'' (1962), '' The Journalist'' (1967) and ''Expectations'' (1966). Acting career Polskikh was born in Moscow in a poor family. Her father was killed during World War II, and her mother died of typhoid fever several years later. The 8-year-old girl was taken to an orphan asylum where she spent several months before her grandmother, who worked as a janitor, took her to her place. They lived in abject poverty in a small room in a basement floor of a many-storied building. Vasilyev Brothers State Prize Of The RSFSR
The Vasilyev Brothers State Prize of the RSFSR was an annual State Prize established by the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic) in 1965. Three Vasilyev Brothers prizes were awarded annually from 1966 until 1990 for cinematographic works of all kinds (fiction, documentary, non-fiction and animated) and for work by screenwriters, directors, actors, cameramen, artists, sound engineers and consultants. A winner was awarded the title "Laureate of RSFSR State Prize" and was presented with a diploma and badge of honour. People's Artist Of RSFSR
People's Artist of the USSR, also sometimes translated as National Artist of the USSR, was an honorary title granted to artists of the Soviet Union. The term is confusingly used to translate two Russian language titles: Народный артист СССР (''Narodny artist SSSR''), awarded in performing arts and Народный художник СССР (''Narodny khudozhnik SSSR''), granted in some visual arts. As those titles were granted by the government, honorees were afforded certain privileges and would often receive commissions from the Minister of Culture of the Soviet Union. Accordingly, artists and authors who expressed criticism of the Communist Party were seldom granted such recognition, if not outright censored. The film tells the story of the friendship between a binge drinker (Sergey Shakurov) and a talking dog which understands what it means to be a real person better than humans and tries to help the man become whole again. Plot Kolyun, a binge drinker, walks about the local bird market and begs for money, which he allegedly lacks in order to buy an animal for a sick child.
