Gajanand Singh
Gajanand Singh (born 3 October 1987) is a Guyanese-American cricketer who plays for the United States national cricket team. He previously represented the West Indies under-19 cricket team at the 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka and played first-class and List A cricket for Guyana. Singh made his Twenty20 debut for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2017 Caribbean Premier League on 6 August 2017. In January 2021, USA Cricket named Singh in a 44-man squad to begin training in Texas ahead of the 2021 Oman Tri-Nation Series. In June 2021, he was selected to take part in the Minor League Cricket tournament in the United States following the players' draft. In August 2021, Singh was named in the United States' One Day International (ODI) squad for the rescheduled tri-series in Oman and their matches against Papua New Guinea. East Berbice-Corentyne
East Berbice-Corentyne (Region 6) is one of ten regions in Guyana covering the whole of the east of the country. It borders the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the Nickerie District and Sipaliwini District of Suriname to the east, Brazil to the south and the regions of Mahaica-Berbice, Upper Demerara-Berbice, Potaro-Siparuni and Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo to the west. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 over (cricket), overs. Together with first-class cricket, first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. Indo-Guyanese People
Indo-Guyanese or Indian-Guyanese, are people of Indian origin who are Guyanese nationals tracing their ancestry to India and the wider subcontinent. They are the descendants of indentured servants and settlers who migrated from India beginning in 1838 during the time of the British Raj. Most of the Indian settlers who arrived to then British Guiana were from North India, specifically Bihar and the Northern Awadh region of the Hindi Belt. However a significant minority came from South India through the port of Madras. Among the immigrants, there were also labourers from other parts of South Asia. The vast majority of Indians came as contract labourers during the 19th century, spurred on by political upheaval, the ramifications of the Mutiny of 1857 and famine. Belize National Cricket Team
The Belize national cricket team represents the country of Belize in international cricket. The team is organised by the Belize National Cricket Association, which has been an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1997 and an associate member since 2017. A team representing British Honduras had debuted in 1960, when England visited after its 1959–60 tour of the West Indies. Belize's first international tournament was a qualifier for the 2004 ICC Americas Championship, and the team has competed regularly in ICC Americas tournaments since then. 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier
The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was played as part of the qualification process for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It took place in November 2021 in Antigua, with the top two teams progressing to one of two global qualifiers. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to Twenty20 men's matches played between member sides from 1 January 2019 onwards. Therefore, all the matches in the Regional Qualifiers were played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Originally the tournament was scheduled to take place from 18 to 24 August 2020. The Papua New Guinea national cricket team, nicknamed the Barramundis, is the team that represents the country of Papua New Guinea in international cricket. The team is organised by Cricket PNG, which has been an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1973. Papua New Guinean Cricket Team In Oman In 2021–22
The Papua New Guinea cricket team toured Oman in September 2021 to play two One Day International (ODI) matches against Nepal and two ODI matches against the United States. The matches were used as preparation for all three teams ahead of the Cricket World Cup League 2 series, also in Oman, which started on 13 September 2021 and 25 September 2021 respectively.
