Gage Goncalves
Gage Goncalves (born January 16, 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Goncalves played bantam hockey at the Yale Hockey Academy in Abbotsford. Goncalves won the Canadian Sport School Bantam Hockey League while attending the academy. Goncalves went on to join the Everett Silvertips after going undrafted in the 2016 bantam draft. On October 7, 2020, Goncalves was drafted with the 62nd pick in the second round of the 2020 NHL entry draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the 2020–21 WHL season Goncalves helped the Silvertips capture a U.S. Division title. In doing so Goncalves captured the top scorer award for the U.S. Division. Syracuse Crunch
The Syracuse Crunch are a professional ice hockey team based in Syracuse, New York. They are the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning. They play in they home games at the Upstate Medical University Arena. History Vancouver and Pittsburgh affiliations (1994–2000) The franchise originated in 1992 as the Hamilton Canucks, which was an affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks played in Hamilton, Ontario, for two seasons, before relocating to upstate New York in 1994. They were then renamed the "Crunch" from a public vote that included five names. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point (ice hockey), point added to their player statistics. When a player scores a goal or is awarded a primary or secondary assist, they will be given a point. The leader of total points throughout an NHL season will be awarded the Art Ross trophy. The 2022–23 AHL season was the 87th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 14, 2022, and ended on April 16, 2023. The 2023 Calder Cup playoffs followed the conclusion of the regular season, and began on April 18, 2023. 2019–20 WHL Season
The 2019–20 WHL season was the 54th season of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The regular season began on September 20, 2019, and was scheduled to end on March 22, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America the regular season was suspended on March 12 and cancelled six days later along with the playoffs. The post-season had been scheduled to begin on March 27, in which sixteen teams would have competed for the Ed Chynoweth Cup. The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) is an independent Canadian Junior ice hockey league with 21 teams in British Columbia and Alberta.
