Gad (son Of Jacob)
Gad () was, according to the Book of Genesis, the first of the two sons of Jacob and Zilpah (Jacob's seventh son) and the founder of the Israelite tribe of Gad. However, some Biblical scholars view this as postdiction, an eponymous metaphor providing an aetiology of the connectedness of the tribe to others in the Israelite confederation. The text of the Book of Genesis implies that the name of ''Gad'' means ''luck''/''fortunate'', in Hebrew. Biblical narrative and criticism The Biblical account shows Zilpah's status as a handmaid change to that of an actual wife of Jacob (Genesis 30:9,11). Gad Saad (; ar, جاد سعد; born 13 October 1964) is a Canadian marketing professor at the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University (Montreal), Concordia University. He is known for applying evolutionary psychology to marketing and consumer behaviour. He wrote a blog for ''Psychology Today'' and hosts a YouTube channel titled "The Saad Truth". Johannes Wilhelm Gad (30 June 1842 – 1926) was a German neurophysiologist who was a native of Posen. He was father-in-law to psychiatrist Oskar Kohnstamm (1871-1917). Life He was an assistant to Emil du Bois-Reymond (1818–1896) at the physiological institute at the University of Berlin, and later worked under Adolf Fick (1829–1901) at the University of Würzburg. In 1893–1894 he was a visiting lecturer of physiology at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and after returning to Germany, became departmental head at the physiological institute in Berlin. In 1895 he succeeded Ewald Hering (1834–1918) as manager of the department of physiology at the University of Prague. Gad is known from his work in experimental physiology. Hyakinthos Gad (2 February 1912 – 30 January 1975) was Apostolic exarch of the Greek Byzantine Catholic Church from 17 February 1958 to 1975. Biography Gad was born on 2 February 1912 in Greece. Hubert Gad
Hubert Gad, also known as Hubert God (15 August 1914 – 3 July 1939), was a Polish football player, a very skilled and aggressive forward, who for a while was the top scorer of Poland. Born in Świętochłowice, Gad represented both Śląsk Świętochłowice and Poland. In white-red jersey debuted 16 February 1936 at Heysel Stadium in Brussels. His debut was excellent, as Gad scored a goal and Poland won 2-0. During the 1936 Summer Olympic Games in Berlin, he was a key player on the team. Gad, who was regarded as a temporary replacement for Ernest Wilimowski, proved his excellent quality, scoring 4 goals in the tournament. Emma Gad (21 January 1852 - 8 January 1921), born Emma Halkier, was a Danish writer and socialite who wrote plays and books that were often satirical. Although she was a prolific writer, many of her works fell into obscurity after her death. One work that remained popular was ''Takt og Tone'', a book of etiquette she wrote in old age. Cille Gad (1675-1711) was a Norwegian poet and culture personality. She was also well known as a female academic, something regarded as notable during by her contemporaries. Biography Cille Gad was born and grew up in Bergen, Norway. She was the daughter of Knud Gad (d. 1711) and Anna Abrahamsdatter. Her father was a printer and auditor. Her mother was the cousin of Dorothe Engelbretsdatter. She received instruction in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew from her father.
