Gabríel Ólafs
Gabríel Ólafs (born Gabríel Örn Ólafsson, 3 December 1998) is an Icelandic pianist, composer, producer, Decca Records US recording artist, and cofounder of the Reykjavík Orkestra. He is known for instrumental music for piano, strings, choir, and electronics, influenced by classical music, Icelandic poetry, Norse tradition, film, fantasy, and the natural world. Early life and independent career Ólafs was born and grew up in Reykjavík. He began playing piano at age five. He received both classical and jazz training, including studying jazz in his teens at the FÍH music school. He was 14 when he wrote a piece called "Absent Minded." It ultimately led to his first record deal, after Derek Birkett, Björk’s manager, heard his first live performance on Icelandic TV, leading to his signing with Björk’s label, One Little Independent Records (then called One Little Indian Records). Apple TV+ is an American subscription over-the-top streaming service owned by Apple. The service launched on November 1, 2019, and it offers a selection of original production film and television series called Apple Originals. The service was announced during the Apple Special Event of March 2019, where entertainers from Apple TV+ projects appeared onstage, including Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, and Steven Spielberg. Decca Records is a British record label established in 1929 by Edward Lewis (Decca), Edward Lewis after his acquisition of a gramophone manufacturer, The Decca Gramophone Company. It set up an American subsidiary under the Decca name, which became an independent company just before the Second World War. The American spin-off became a subsidiary of MCA Inc. in 1962. Harpa (concert Hall)
Harpa (, English: Harp) is a concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavík, Iceland. The opening concert was held on 4 May 2011. The building features a distinctive colored glass façade inspired by the basalt landscape of Iceland. History Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours. The building was part of a redevelopment of the Austurhöfn area dubbed World Trade Center Reykjavík, which was temporarily abandoned during the 2008–2011 Icelandic financial crisis. Bergur Þórisson
__NOTOC__ Bergur Þórisson (transliterated as Thorisson; born 1993) is an Icelandic musician, composer, and audio engineer. He is one half of the neo-classical post-rock duo Hugar, musical director for Björk, and frequent collaborator of Ólafur Arnalds. Career Bergur grew up in Seltjarnarnes and played the trombone. After graduating from Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð in 2012, Bergur was accepted into Juilliard but decided not to pursue it. He took one semester of engineering at Reykjavík University. Bergur joined Ólafur Arnalds in writing the music for the 2013 British TV series ''Broadchurch'', for which Ólafur was awarded the BAFTA awards. Bergur then toured with Ólafur around Europe.
