Gabriel Rossi (actor)
Gabriel Rossi (born 3 February 1971 in Orbost, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian comedian. His comedy focuses on stereotypes of ethnicities and various Melbourne suburbs. He often includes music in his stand-up comedy shows, playing acoustic guitar. Stand-up shows Rossi made his debut appearance as a stand-up comic on the gruelling Melbourne pub circuit in 1996. In 1998, Rossi was a Victorian finalist in the Triple J Raw Comedy stand-up competition. Rossi first appeared in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2000 in a show entitled "Melbourne: the Musical." He appeared again in "Reservoir Wogs" in 2004, receiving a 5-star review in the Herald Sun, and "Gift of the Gab" in 2006, lauded as "offering witty and candid perceptions of sexist and racist behaviour" and "refreshingly new" by The Age. Helen Razer
Helen Razer is a Melbourne-born and Canberra-raised radio presenter and writer. She is the author of four non-fiction books and a columnist with the Australian version of ''The Big Issue'', Melbourne newspaper ''The Age'' and contributor to the monthly magazine ''Cherrie'' and weekly newspaper ''The Saturday Paper''. Raw Comedy
Raw Comedy, stylised as RAW Comedy, is an Australian annual competition for emerging stand-up comedians held by Melbourne International Comedy Festival. History and description The Raw Comedy competition was established at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 1996. In 2011, there were 1,100 contestants. The competition is supported by national youth radio station Triple J. the competition attracts around 1,000 entrants annually from all over Australia, and is the largest open-mic comedy competition in the country. Melbourne International Comedy Festival
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is the largest stand-alone comedy festival and the largest international comedy festival in the world.
