Gabdrakhman Kadyrov
Gabdrakhman Kadyrov (27 January 1941 - 31 July 1993) was an international speedway rider from the Soviet Union. His nationality was described as being a Tatar and his mother came from Bashkortostan but he was born in Shatura. Speedway career Kadyrov was one of the all-time great Ice Speedway riders. He won the inaugural Individual Ice Speedway World Championship in 1966 and went on to be the champion of the world six times in total, after winning again in 1966, 1968, 1969, 1971, 1972 and 1973. He won a silver medal at the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1967 Speedway World Team Cup. He was known as Gab and earned the nickname 'The Beatle' by his fellow Soviet riders because of his hair cut resembling The Beatles at the time. He was a metal craftsman by trade. In 1964, he was part of the Soviet Union team that toured Britain for the first time. In 1965 he toured the United Kingdom as part of the Soviet Union national team again. Shatura
Shatura () is a town and the administrative center of Shatursky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located on Lake Svyatoye east of Moscow. Population: History A settlement on the site of modern Shatura has existed since 1423. In 1917, peat deposits mining started in the vicinity. In 1918, construction of the first peat-fueled electric Shatura Power Station began near the village of Torbeyevka (). Farid Szajnurov is a former international speedway rider from the Soviet Union. Speedway career Szajnurov won a silver medal at the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1966 Speedway World Team Cup. The following year he was part of the Soviet team that won the bronze medal at the 1967 Speedway World Team Cup. He was the first Champion of the Soviet Union in 1959 and later won the title a second time in 1966. He also won the Russian national championship in 1966. Viktor Trofimov
Viktor Ivanovich Trofimov () (22 March 1938 – 1 October 2013) was a Soviet international speedway rider. Career Trofimov born in Leningrad, Soviet Union. reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in 1972 and 1975. He also finished on the rostrum of the World Team Cup nine times between 1965 and 1976 but never won a gold medal. He achieved four silver (1966, 1971, 1972, 1975) and three bronze (1967, 1969, 1973) medals. In 1965 he toured the United Kingdom as part of the Soviet Union national team, it was only the second ever tour of the UK by the Soviet Union. Trofimov was the champion of the Soviet Union, winning the title in 1967. He won the Continental Speedway final in 1972. Boris Alexandrovich Samorodov (1931-2016) was an international Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider from the Soviet Union. Speedway career Samorodov became a World Champion after winning the gold medal at the 1967 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship. He also reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1963 Individual Speedway World Championship. Samorodov was twice the Russian Individual Speedway Championship, champion of the Soviet Union, winning the title in 1962 and 1964. Igor Alexandrovich Plekhanov (; 26 July 1933 in Ufa, Russian SFSR – 2 August 2007) was a Soviet speedway rider who finished second in the Speedway World Championship in 1964 and 1965. History Plekhanov was the first Soviet rider to appear in a Speedway World Championship world final during the 1961 Individual Speedway World Championship.
