Gabby Marshall
Gabriella (Gabby) Marshall is a former member of the England National Netball Team team who played centre for Manchester Thunder, London Mavericks, Severn Stars and Birmingham Panthers in the Netball superleague. Following her second concussion of the season, she announced her retirement from top-level netball in early May 2025. Netball career Marshall was born on 9 April 1996. She attended Aquinas College, Stockport and then obtained a degree in physiotherapy from the Manchester Metropolitan University. She started to play netball at the age of five at the Oldham Netball Club, where her elder sister was already playing. She played for Oldham before joining the Manchester Thunder in the Superleague in 2013. In 2017 she joined the London Mavericks, when it was known as the Saracens Mavericks, but was released from the Mavericks five years later after surgery on both her ankles. The England national netball team, also known as the Vitality Roses, represent England Netball in international netball tournaments such as the Netball World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, the Netball Quad Series, the Taini Jamison Trophy, the Fast5 Netball World Series and the European Netball Championship. Dame Kelly Holmes (born 19 April 1970) is a retired British Middle-distance running, middle distance Track and field, athlete and television personality. Holmes specialised in the 800 metres, 800 and 1500 metres events and won gold medals for both distances at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. She set British records in athletics, British records in numerous events and still holds the records over the 600 metres, 600, and 1000 metres, 1000 metre distances. Dame Kelly Holmes Trust
The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust is a British charity that was set up in 2008 by double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes. It supports retired athletes as they transition from sport, and uses their skills and experience to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people through mentoring programmes. The Trust supports people between the ages of 14 and 25 in all regions of the United Kingdom, and is funded by a combination of grants, trusts, corporate partners and fundraising.
