Cool Cat is a fictional cartoon character created by director Alex Lovy for Warner Bros.-Seven Arts Animation. He was the final star of the original Warner Bros. theatrical cartoons. His first appearance was in an eponymous short in 1967. He was voiced by Larry Storch. Robert McKimson took over as director for the last two cartoons in this series. In 1967, Jack L. Warner reorganized the Warner Bros. animation department, and hired Lovy away from Hanna-Barbera Productions to handle Warner's last two classic characters ( Daffy Duck, Speedy Gonzales) and create some new cartoon series. The two series that Lovy developed were Cool Cat and Merlin the Magic Mouse. Claude Cat is an animated cartoon character in the ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons from Warner Brothers. Character biography Claude Cat had his origins in several other cat characters used by animator Chuck Jones from 1943 to 1946. These cats were mostly similar in appearance and temperament, with black fur and anxious personalities. For example, in the 1943 film '' The Aristo-Cat'', Jones paired his unnamed cat against the mind-manipulating mouse duo, Hubie and Bertie. In the 1943 film '' Fin'n Catty,'' the same cat has a manipulation with water and a goldfish in the style of Sylvester and Tweety. Charlie Dog (also known as Rover, Charlie, and sometimes Charles the Dog) is an animated cartoon character in the Warner Brothers ''Looney Tunes'' series of cartoons. The character was featured in nine cartoons between 1941 and 1958. He is generally characterized as a wise-guy type. Development Bob Clampett minted the scenario that Charlie Dog would later inherit in his cartoon short '' Porky's Pooch'', first released on 27 December 1941. Cecil Turtle is a fictional character in the Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of films. Though he made only three theatrical appearances, Cecil has the unusual distinction that he is one of the very few characters who were able to outsmart Bugs Bunny, and the only one to do so three times in a row and at the rabbit's own game. Buddy is an animated cartoon character in the ''Looney Tunes'' series by Leon Schlesinger Productions. He was the second star of the series, after Bosko. History Buddy was created after animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising severed their relations with producer Leon Schlesinger. Without his animators and Bosko, the star character they had taken with them, Schlesinger was desperate to build his own studio and maintain his contract with Warner Bros. He recruited several animators from other studios, among them Tom Palmer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Schlesinger told his new employees to create a star character for the studio, and Palmer created Buddy in 1933, with his first film '' Buddy's Day Out'' released on September 9. Bosko is an animated cartoon character created by animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. Bosko was the first recurring character in Leon Schlesinger's cartoon series and was the star of thirty-nine ''Looney Tunes'' shorts released by Warner Bros. He was voiced by Carman Maxwell, Bernard B. Brown, Johnny Murray, and Philip Hurlic during the 1920s and 1930s and once by Don Messick during the 1990s. Beaky Buzzard (initially known as "Killer") is an animated cartoon character in the Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons. He is a young turkey vulture (sometimes called a "buzzard" in the United States) with black body feathers and a white tuft around his throat. His neck is long and thin, bending 90 degrees at an enormous Adam's apple. His neck and head are featherless, and his beak and feet are large and yellow or orange, depending on the cartoon. The character is depicted as simpleminded with drawled speech, a perpetual silly grin, and partially-closed eyes. Beaky was partly based on Edgar Bergen's puppet Mortimer Snerd. Barnyard Dawg is a ''Looney Tunes'' character. A feisty anthropomorphic basset hound, he is a friend and the archenemy of Foghorn Leghorn. He was created by Robert McKimson, who also created Foghorn, and was voiced by Mel Blanc.
