GT4 Australia
GT4 Australia (known commercially as Monochrome GT4 Australia for 2024–2025) is a motor racing series for SRO GT4-class grand touring cars. The series is promoted by the SRO Motorsports Group, who are the global owner of the category, and also promote the GT World Challenge Australia for SRO GT3 cars. The first series ran in 2024, after GT4 cars had previously run in the Australian Production Car Championship. In 2024, the series ran as part of the SpeedSeries events promoted by Motorsport Australia. For 2025, SRO has taken over as event promoter and the series will run on events headlined by the World Challenge Australia. SRO GT4
The GT4 European Series is a sports car championship created and organised by SRO Motorsports Group. It is a pro/am championship which followed a formula similar to the FIA GT3 European Championship, which was itself derived from the FIA GT Championship which utilized the GT1 and GT2 classes. The GT4 class cars are the least powerful of the four classes, yet are equalised in order to allow driving skill to become key. SRO Motorsports Group
SRO Motorsports Group (formerly the Stéphane Ratel Organisation) is an international sporting organisation best known for promoting and running a variety of racing events and series, including the Total 24 Hours of Spa, Intercontinental GT Challenge and Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe. The company was founded in 1995 by Stéphane Ratel and is now considered the global leader in GT racing. GT World Challenge Australia
The Australian GT Championship is a CAMS-sanctioned national title for drivers of GT cars, held annually from 1960 to 1963, from 1982 to 1985 and from 2005. Each championship up to and including the 1963 title was contested over a single race and those after that year over a series of races. The categories which have contested the championship have not always been well defined and often have become a home for cars orphaned by category collapse or a sudden change in regulation. Australian Production Car Championship
The Australian Production Car Championship is an Australian motor racing title for production cars, sanctioned by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS). The championship was first contested in 1987 and from 2008 to 2015 the title was awarded to the most successful driver in the annual Australian Manufacturers' Championship series which ran on the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships program. Platinum Categorisation is a category within the FIA Drivers' Categorisation. The FIA Drivers' Categorisation is a system created by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile that lists drivers on the basis of their achievements, performances and age. This categorization is used in sports car racing championships such as FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series, etc. The previously separate FIA WEC and FIA GT3 lists were merged in 2015. 2024 GT4 Australia Series
The 2024 GT4 Australia Series (commercially titled 2024 Monochrome GT4 Australia Series) was an Australian motorsport competition for GT4 cars. The championship was the inaugural running of a standalone GT4 Australia series having split from the Australian Production Car Series at the end of 2023, and was the first season of the championship being solely managed by the SRO Motorsports Group. Events were held on the Australian Racing Group's SpeedSeries bill, with the season starting on 14 April at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and ending on 10 November at Mount Panorama Circuit.
