GSAT Satellites
The GSAT (Geosynchronous Satellite) satellites are India's indigenously developed communications satellites, used for digital audio, data and video broadcasting. As of 5 December 2018, 20 GSAT satellites manufactured by the Indian Space Research Organisation have been launched, out of which 14 are in service. History The GSAT series of geosynchronous satellites is a system developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) with an objective to make India self-reliant in broadcasting services. The system includes a total of 168 transponders (out of which 95 are leased out to provide services to broadcasters) in the C, Extended C and Ku bands, providing services to telecommunications, television broadcasting, weather forecasting, disaster warning and search and rescue operations. G-Sat (''Global Satellite'') is a subscription-based direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service commercially available in the Philippines. G-Sat is owned by Global Satellite Technology Services (GSTS), registered in the Philippines with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). G-Sat also carried pay TV channels from Hong Kong (through its feed of some channels), Macau and Taiwan, which TV shows and movies subtitled in Cantonese language, Cantonese and Mandarin language, Mandarin. Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) is a class of expendable launch systems operated by the ISRO, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). GSAT-7C
GSAT-7C (Geosynchronous satellite 7C) is a planned Indian military communication satellite for the Indian Air Force, as part of the GSAT series. On 23 November 2021, the Defence Acquisition Council under the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved the Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) of the satellite project. The project is worth . The funds were allocated for the development of the satellite and ground hubs for real-time connectivity of software defined radios. Complete design, development, and launching of the satellite will be in India. It will be based on ISRO's I-2000 kg ( I-2K) Bus. Ariane 5 is a retired European heavy-lift space launch vehicle operated by Arianespace for the European Space Agency (ESA). It was launched from the Guiana Space Centre (CSG) in French Guiana. GSAT-7 or INSAT-4F is a multi-band military communications satellite developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation. The Indian Navy is the user of the multi-band communication spacecraft, which has been operational since September 2013. GSAT-6A
GSAT-6A was a communication satellite launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It featured a unfurlable S-band antenna similar to the one used on GSAT-6. Around 17 minutes after lift-off, the three stage GSLV Mk.II rocket flying on GSLV F08 mission successfully injected the satellite into a geosynchronous transfer orbit. Due to power failure during its orbit raising burns the communication was lost with GSAT-6A before it could reach its final circular geostationary orbit (GSO). History GSAT-6A was launched to complement GSAT-6 satellite which was launched in August 2015 by ISRO. The cost of building GSAT-6A was around ₹270 crore.
