Ricoh GR (large Sensor Compact Camera)
The Ricoh GR is a digital large sensor compact camera announced by Ricoh on April 17, 2013, one of a number of Ricoh GR digital cameras. It was succeeded by the Ricoh GR II in 2015, the Ricoh GR III in 2019, and the GR IIIx in 2021. Ricoh GR Unlike its predecessors (the " GR Digital" series), the Ricoh GR incorporated an APS-C image sensor, while retaining a relatively compact form factor. Coupled with its retractable lens, the GR is potentially the slimmest of any camera in its class when powered off. Aside from portability, reviewers praised the GR for its lens quality and ergonomics. An unusual feature of the Ricoh GR was its built-in ND filter. Its maximum shutter speed was variable, depending on the aperture setting (ie, 1/4000s was only available at apertures smaller than 5.6). The Ricoh GR series has been compared against the Nikon Coolpix A and the Fujifilm X70, other large sensor compacts with the same fixed focal length (28mm). Ricoh GR II DPReview said that ov ...

Ricoh GR Digital Cameras
The Ricoh GR is a series of Point-and-shoot camera, point-and-shoot, or compact, digital cameras made by Ricoh. The GR name was previously used for Ricoh's Ricoh GR film cameras, GR series of film cameras. Like the GR film cameras and Fujifilm X70, the GR digital cameras use metal bodies fitted with bright, permanently-attached prime lenses. In general, the GR digital cameras follow the precedent set by the original GR1 (1996) with lenses that provide a field of view equivalent to a 28 mm wide angle lens on a 135 film, 35mm film camera. Specific models include the GR Digital (2005), GR Digital II (2008), GR Digital III (2009), and GR Digital IV (2011), which share similar (small) sensor sizes and lenses; these were followed in 2013 by the GR, which dropped the "Digital" portion of the name and moved to a larger APS-C sensor. Since its release, the GR has been updated as the GR II (2015), GR III (2018), and GR IIIx (2021), which changed the 35mm equivalent focal length, equival ...

Graphics Resolution
The display resolution or display modes of a digital television, computer monitor, or other display device is the number of distinct pixels in each dimension that can be displayed. It can be an ambiguous term especially as the displayed resolution is controlled by different factors in cathode-ray tube (CRT) displays, flat-panel displays (including liquid-crystal displays) and projection displays using fixed picture-element (pixel) arrays. It is usually quoted as ', with the units in pixels: for example, ' means the width is 1024 pixels and the height is 768 pixels. This example would normally be spoken as "ten twenty-four by seven sixty-eight" or "ten twenty-four by seven six eight". One use of the term ''display resolution'' applies to fixed-pixel-array displays such as plasma display panels (PDP), liquid-crystal displays (LCD), Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors, OLED displays, and similar technologies, and is simply the physical number of columns and rows of pixels cr ...

Google Reader
Google Reader was an RSS/Atom feed aggregator operated by Google. It was created in early 2005 by Google engineer Chris Wetherell and launched on October 7, 2005, through Google Labs. Google Reader grew in popularity to support a number of programs which used it as a platform for serving news and information to users. Google closed Google Reader on July 1, 2013, citing declining use. History In early 2001, software engineer Chris Wetherell began a project he called "JavaCollect" that served as a news portal based on web feeds. After working at Google he began a similar project with a small team that launched an improved product on October 7, 2005, as Google Reader. In September 2006, Google announced a redesign for Reader that included new features such as unread counts, the ability to "mark all as read", a new folder-based navigation, and an expanded view so users could quickly scan over several items at once. This also marked the addition of a sharing feature, which allowed ...

Glutathione Reductase
Glutathione reductase (GR) also known as glutathione-disulfide reductase (GSR) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the GSR gene. Glutathione reductase (EC 1.8.1.7) catalyzes the reduction of glutathione disulfide ( GSSG) to the sulfhydryl form glutathione ( GSH), which is a critical molecule in resisting oxidative stress and maintaining the reducing environment of the cell. Glutathione reductase functions as dimeric disulfide oxidoreductase and utilizes an FAD prosthetic group and NADPH to reduce one molar equivalent of GSSG to two molar equivalents of GSH: The glutathione reductase is conserved between all kingdoms. In bacteria, yeasts, and animals, one glutathione reductase gene is found; however, in plant genomes, two GR genes are encoded. ''Drosophila'' and trypanosomes do not have any GR at all. In these organisms, glutathione reduction is performed by either the thioredoxin or the trypanothione system, respectively. Function Glutathione plays a key role in m ...

Glucocorticoid Receptor
The glucocorticoid receptor (GR or GCR) also known by its gene name ''NR3C1'' ( nuclear receptor subfamily 3, group C, member 1) is the steroid receptor for glucocorticoids such as cortisol. The GR is expressed in almost every cell in the body and regulates genes controlling the development, metabolism, inflammation, and immune response. Because the receptor gene is expressed in several forms, it has many different ( pleiotropic) effects in different parts of the body and in the context of different diseases. GR is a steroid receptor and thus its canonical action is similar to other steroid receptors. ree full text/ref> The unbound receptor resides in the cytosol of the cell. When glucocorticoids bind to the receptor, GR translocates to the nucleus of the cell where it acts as a transcription factor. The activated GR complex up-regulates the expression of anti-inflammatory proteins in the nucleus or represses the expression of pro-inflammatory proteins in the cytosol (by ...
