GNT
GNT is a Brazilian pay television channel. Originally launched as GNT: Globosat News Television, a news and information network. With the launch of GloboNews, in 1996, the GNT acronym became meaningless, and the channel was focused on documentaries and talk shows. In 2003, the channel was once again repositioned, with increased female-oriented programming, such as successful talk show Saia Justa. However, some original GNT programs remain, such as Manhattan Connection, currently the longest-running original program on Brazilian subscription television, though that program moved to GloboNews in January 2011. History GNT was launched in 1991 and was a news channel until the launch of GloboNews in 1996. Globosat
Globosat, was a Brazilian pay television content service, part of Grupo Globo. Established in 1991, after the Cable Television in Brazil, creation of subscription television services in Brazil, with 29 channels and over 1,000 employees, it is the largest pay television content provider in Brazil, as well as of Latin America, comprising a domestic audience of 45 million viewers distributed among more than 15 million households. History In 1993, Globosat split its content generation and distribution businesses. Cable TV sales and distribution were assigned to Net Brasil, which was also responsible for installing cable networks in selected cities. Telecine is a Brazilian premium television network owned by Globo, a division of Grupo Globo. Until 2024, the company was co-owned by Hollywood studios. The network consists of six channels, airing primarily theatrically released motion pictures from its studio owners and other Brazilian distributors, such as Globo Filmes, Paris Filmes, Califórnia Filmes, and Europa Filmes, as well as having the premium second-run content rights to Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. ''Por Um Fio'' is a Brazilian reality television show, which premiered September 24, 2010 with the season finale airing December 10, 2010 on the GNT Cable television, television cable channel. It is the Brazilian version of Bravo (American TV network), Bravo's reality competition for hair stylists, ''Shear Genius''. The show is presented by actress Juliana Paes, who also serves as head judge. Ricardo dos Anjos and Wanda Alves are also part of the judging panel. Hair stylist Tiago Parente is the contestant's mentor. There were twelve contestants competing for the grand prize, which was R$50,000 and a beauty editorial in the Brazilian edition of Marie Claire. Multishow is an entertainment channel owned by Canais Globo, Grupo Globo's cable and satellite television channel operator. It was launched in 1991, as one of the company's first four channels (with Telecine, Top Sport – now SporTV – and GNT). A high-definition simulcast was launched on 15 December 2012, at 11:59 pm Brazilian Summer Time ( UTC-02), with a live telecast of a Rolling Stones concert at the Prudential Center. History Multishow launched in 1991 with an 18-hour schedule. Niche programming from ZDF, NHK and Antenne 2 was carried to cater to their respective ethnic minorities, subtitled. ''Manhattan Connection'' is a Brazilian talk show, aired from 1993 to 2021, then back in 2023. It was created and anchored by journalist Lucas Mendes.
