GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD Law) is a non-profit legal rights organization in the United States. The organization works to end discrimination based on sexual orientation, HIV status, and gender identity and expression. The organization primarily achieves this goal through litigation, advocacy, and education work in all areas of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) rights and the rights of people living with HIV. In addition, GLAD Law operates a legal information line, GLAD Law Answers, where LGBTQ & HIV+ residents of New England can receive attorney referrals and information about their rights. GLAD is one of the pioneers of Christian pop/rock and a cappella music, forming as a progressive rock group in 1972 and discovering a large audience for their a cappella music in 1988. The Glad Products Company is an American company specializing in trash bags and plastic food storage containers. History The Glad brand originated in the United States in 1963 when Union Carbide owner and CEO, David Darroch, launched Glad Wrap, a polyethylene film used as a food wrap. Douglas G. Taylor was transferred that same year from the Union Carbide facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to spearhead the Glad Wrap project. Mr. Taylor headed sales and marketing for Glad products until he retired from Union Carbide in 1985, after putting together the sale of Union Carbide's Home and Automotive Products division to First Brands Corporation. Miracle Legion was an American college rock band formed in 1983 in New Haven, Connecticut. Glad (, , , ) was the ruler of Banat (in present-day Romania and Serbia) at the time of the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin around 900 AD, according to the ''Gesta Hungarorum''. The ''Gesta'', which was written by an author known in modern scholarship as Anonymus (notary of Béla III), Anonymus in the second half of the 12th century or in the early 13th century, is the earliest extant Hungarian chronicle.
