Gotham City ( ), or simply Gotham, is a fictional city in the Northeastern United States that serves as the primary city appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. It is best known as the home of the superhero Batman and his List of Batman supporting characters#Bat-Family, allies and List of Batman family enemies, foes. Created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane, the city was first identified as Batman's place of residence in ''Batman (comic book), Batman'' #4 (December 1940) and has since been the primary setting for stories featuring the character. In most of its incarnations, Gotham is depicted as one of the most crime-ridden cities in the world. Clayface
Clayface is an alias used by several supervillains appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Most incarnations of the character possess clay-like bodies and shapeshifting abilities, and all of them are List of Batman family enemies, adversaries of the superhero Batman. In 2009, Clayface was ranked as IGN's 73rd-greatest comic book villain of all time. A prominent enemy of Batman, Clayface has appeared in various forms of non-comics media, and has been voiced by Ron Perlman in the DC Animated Universe (DCAU) and Alan Tudyk in both ''Harley Quinn (TV series), Harley Quinn'' and the DC Universe (franchise), DC Universe (DCU) animated series Creature Commandos (TV series), ''Creature Commandos'', among others, with live-action versions of the character appearing on the television series ''Gotham (TV series), Gotham'', portrayed by Brian McManamon, and ''Pennyworth (TV series), Pennyworth'', portrayed by Lorraine Burroughs.
