The G1515 Yancheng–Jingjiang Expressway (), commonly referred to as the Yanjing Expressway (), is an expressway in China that connects the cities of Yancheng and Jingjiang. Route The expressway starts at Yancheng, passes through Jiangyan, and ends at Jingjiang, with a total length of 167.7 kilometers and is located entirely in the province of Jiangsu Jiangsu is a coastal Provinces of the People's Republic of China, province in East China. Yancheng
Yancheng (), formerly known as Yandu, is a prefecture-level city in the eastern coastal Jiangsu province, People's Republic of China. As the city with the largest jurisdictional area in Jiangsu, Yancheng borders Lianyungang to the north, Huai'an to the west, Yangzhou and Taizhou to the southwest, Nantong to the south, and the Yellow Sea to the east. Formerly a county, the current Yancheng city was founded on January 18, 1983. Yancheng, literally "Salt City", is named after the salt harvest fields surrounding the city. According to historical records, collection and production of sea salt in the region began as early as 119 BC, during the Western Han dynasty, when the settlement on the current location of Yancheng was named Yandu County (). Jingjiang
Jingjiang () is a county-level city under the administration of Taizhou, Jiangsu province, China. It is located on the northern (left) bank of the Yangtze River, and is the southernmost part of Taizhou City, bordering Nantong to the northeast, Suzhou to the southeast, Wuxi to the south, Changzhou to the southwest, and Zhenjiang to the west. The area of Jingjiang is 655.6 square kilometres and the population was 663,408 at the 2020 census. History The modern terrain of Jingjiang originated as a sandbank in the Yangtze River known as Matuosha. After the shoal was extended, it was separated from Jiangyin county to form a new county in 1471. After being looted by Wokou several times, it was designated Jiangjiang, meaning "pacifying the Yangtze River". Taizhou is a city in Jiangsu in eastern China. Situated on the north bank of the Yangtze River, it borders Nantong to the east, Yancheng to the north and Yangzhou to the west. The 2020 Chinese census counted its population at 4,512,762 of whom 1,504,014 live in the built-up (''or metro'') area made of three urban districts ('' Hailing, Jiangyan and Gaogang''). Jiangyan
Jiangyan District () is one of the three urban districts of the city of Taizhou, Jiangsu province. It was a county-level city until December 2012. Jiangyan is known for being the birthplace of the former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Hu Jintao. History Formerly called Taixian or Taihsien (), Jiangyan was a county by the end of the Western Han dynasty. It has relics from the Zhou dynasty and a Buddha statue from the Tang dynasty.
