Grupo Desportivo Riopele was a Portugal, Portuguese association football, football club founded in 1958 from Vila Nova de Famalicão, Braga. It only currently maintains the junior divisions open to focus on youth football development. The club have played once in the Primeira Liga which was in the 1977–78 Primeira Divisão, 1977–78 season were the club was relegated following one season. The club's most notable former players include Jorge Jesus and José Romão. Vila Nova de Famalicão () is a Portuguese town with a population of approximately 133,048 inhabitants () in an area of 201,59 km2, subdivided into 49 parishes (Administrative Division of 11 Unions of Parishes and 23 Parish Councils,). Jorge Jesus
Jorge Fernando Pinheiro de Jesus (; born 24 July 1954) is a Portuguese professional football manager and former player, who is the current manager of Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe. He started his career with Sporting CP, going on to play for 12 other clubs in 17 years as a professional, which included nine Primeira Liga seasons. Jesus began a coaching career in 1990, and his first stop in the main category was with Felgueiras in the 1995–96 campaign. José Pratas Romão (born 13 April 1954) is a Portuguese former football winger and manager. Playing career Born in Beja, Alentejo, Romão started playing for local C.D. Beja. He also represented Vitória de Guimarães, AD Fafe, F.C. Penafiel, G.D. Riopele, G.C. Alcobaça and F.C. Vizela in a 15-year professional career. Romão spent five seasons in the Primeira Liga with Guimarães, never managing to be more than a reserve player. His last campaign at that level was 1982–83, being relegated with Alcobaça. He retired in June 1984, at only 30 years of age.
