Föhringer Ring
The Föhringer Ring is a roughly 2.5 km long inner city street in Munich. It passes through the district of Freimann and is a part of the Outer Ring. The Föhringer Ring runs from the Frankfurter Ring to Effnerstraße, and crosses over the Isar on the Herzog-Heinrich-Brücke. It runs through the municipal area of Unterföhring on the East side. The Basispyramide Unterföhring is situated at the transition to Effnerstraße, from which the topographical surveying of Bavaria took its starting point at the beginning of the 19th century. The Beach arena, the Max Planck Institute for Physics, the tennis club MTTC Iphitos, as well as the beer garden Aumeister are located on the Föhringer Ring. Routes The Outer Ring was not planned as a circular street, but was planned as a series of relatively straight streets that would be connected by curved sections of road. Isar
The Isar () is a river in Austria and in Bavaria, Germany. Its source is in the Karwendel mountain range of the Alps. The Isar river enters Germany near Mittenwald and flows through Krün, Wallgau, Bad Tölz, Munich, and Landshut before reaching the Danube near Deggendorf. With 295 km length, it is among the longest rivers in Bavaria. It is Germany's second most important tributary of the Danube. Unterföhring
Unterföhring is a Municipalities of Germany, municipality in Upper Bavaria. It lies adjacent to the northeast side of Munich, and is one of the nearest suburbs to Munich's Marienplatz, central district. Aumeister is a pub and beer garden in Munich, Germany, with 2500 guest places. It is located at the northern end of the Englischer Garten in the meadow south of the Föhringer Ring and east of the Studentenstadt area in the Kulturheim neighbourhood of the Schwabing, Freimann district. History After the foundation of the Englischer Garten, the Aujägermeister house was relocated from Altstadt-Lehel to the northern edge of Schwabing, Freimanner Flur and became part of the new neighbourhood of Kulturheim in 1803 together with three newly built gardens. Studentenstadt
Studentenstadt is a student housing complex in Munich, Germany. The complex was built in two stages, between 1961-1968 and between 1970-1977, and is Germany's largest student housing complex with 2,478 residential units in 14 buildings. Besides the Olympic Village, it is the second largest student accommodation managed by the ''Studentenwerk München''. In order to create affordable housing relatively quickly, several "Wohncontainer" similar to mobile homes were set up near the Studentenstadt buildings. Today, more than 2,500 people live in this complex. The streets that run through Studentenstadt are named after the World War II era resistance group, the White Rose. The ''Englischer Garten'' (, ''English Garden'') is a large public park in the centre of Munich, Bavaria, stretching from the city centre to the northeastern city limits.
