Félix Saurí Vivas
Félix Saurí Vivas (December 1850 – 25 December 1915), also known as Félix Saurí y Vivas, was a Spanish- Puerto Rican businessman and interim Mayor of Ponce, from 13 May 1895 to 11 July 1895.Socorro Girón. Career Saurí Vivas was born in Mataró in the Province of Barcelona to Pedro Saurí and Teresa Vivas. He immigrated to Puerto Rico, where he was a businessman and hacienda holder. He became mayor of Ponce in 1895. In the same year, he also founded, with Juan Serralles ''Banco Crédito y Ahorro Ponceño'', one of the leading banking institutions in Puerto Rico for almost a century. Eduardo Armstrong
Eduardo Armstrong Toro (24 January 1851 – 19 June 1895) was Mayor of Ponce, Puerto Rico, from 1894 to 3 May 1895. He was the brother of Thomas Armstrong Toro, for whom a high school is named in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Early years Armstrong Toro was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on 24 January 1851. His parents were Peter Luther Lothario Armstrong Creagh (1800–1863) and Antonia Toro Y Loudón (1825–1901), who married on 14 May 1840. He was the sixth of eight children born to Peter Luther and Antonia. Plaza Muñoz Rivera
Plaza Muñoz Rivera, formally Plaza Luis Muñoz Rivera, is the smaller of the two plazas at Plaza Las Delicias in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is located on the north side of Plaza Las Delicias, north of the larger southern Plaza Degetau. The square is notable for its fountains and for the Luis Muñoz Rivera statue. The historic Parque de Bombas and Ponce Cathedral buildings are located immediately to the south of Plaza Muñoz Rivera. The square is at the center of the Ponce Historic Zone, and is flanked by the Armstrong-Poventud Residence to the west, the Teatro Fox Delicias to the north, and Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Architecture to the east. Parque del Tricentenario is a passive urban park in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The park was built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city. It was inaugurated during the mayoral administration of mayor Rafael Cordero Santiago. Location The park is a passive urban family park. It is located in Barrio Tercero at the entrance to the Ponce Historic Zone on Miguel Pou Boulevard, at the southern terminus of PR-1. Features The park is a three-plaza park.
