Félix Pérez Cardozo (Paraguay)
Félix Pérez Cardozo (20 November 1908 – 9 June 1952) was a Paraguayan harpist and composer. He was born in the countryside where he learned to play the harp. He played in bands in Asunción and Buenos Aires before forming his own group in 1945. He gained wide public recognition and enjoyed huge fame in Buenos Aires and throughout the Río de la Plata area. A thirty-six string harp was his brainchild, when he asked Epifanio Lopez to build one for his song, "Pájaro campana" (The Bell Bird). Félix Pérez Cardozo is a town and district located in the Guairá Department of Paraguay. It is located approximately from the national capital Asunción. Rigoberto Fontao Meza (December 29, 1900 – December 29, 1936) was a Paraguayan poet. He is considered by some to be one of the greatest poets of the Paraguayan native canon. He wrote highly descriptive poems in Spanish, Guarani and Jopara. He died in Asunción, Paraguay, on his birthday, December 29, 1936, at the age of 36. Biography The son of Benjamín Fontao and Marciana Meza, he was born in Tape Ka'aty, located in the San Pedro Department, Paraguay, on December 29, 1900.
