Fátima Báñez
María Fátima Báñez García (born 6 January 1967), better known as Fátima Báñez, is a Spanish politician, economist and jurist. She was Ministry of Employment and Social Security (Spain), Minister of Employment and Social Security from December 2011 until June 2018, when a 2018 vote of no confidence in the government of Mariano Rajoy, vote of no-confidence against Mariano Rajoy ousted the government. Since February 2025 is an external member of Iberdrola Energía Internacional, a subsidiary of Iberdrola. Education Báñez holds a degree in Law and in Economics and Business Studies from the Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE). She served as a councillor of the Radio y Televisión de Andalucía, Andalusia Radio and Television (1997-2000).
