Fátima Báñez
María Fátima Báñez García (born 6 January 1967), better known as Fátima Báñez, is a Spanish politician, economist and jurist. She was Ministry of Employment and Social Security (Spain), Minister of Employment and Social Security from December 2011 until June 2018, when a 2018 vote of no confidence in the government of Mariano Rajoy, vote of no-confidence against Mariano Rajoy ousted the government. Since February 2025 is an external member of Iberdrola Energía Internacional, a subsidiary of Iberdrola. Education Báñez holds a degree in Law and in Economics and Business Studies from the Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE). She served as a councillor of the Radio y Televisión de Andalucía, Andalusia Radio and Television (1997-2000). The Ministry of Labour and Social Economy (MITES) is the Spanish government departments, department of the Government of Spain responsible for planning and carrying out the government policy on Industrial relations, labour relations and social economy.
