Fuzzy Duck (band)
Fuzzy Duck were an English progressive rock/ hard rock group from London, formed in 1970. Career The group's self-titled studio album '' Fuzzy Duck'' was released in 1971 on the MAM label. It featured bassist/vocalist Mick Hawksworth of Five Day Week Straw People, Killing Floor and Andromeda, as well as Crazy World of Arthur Brown keyboardist Roy Sharland and drummer Paul Francis of Tucky Buzzard (and later of Tranquility). The group disbanded soon after the release of their album, but enduring interest in the band led to reissues on CD by Akarma, Esoteric and Repertoire Records. Additionally, in 1971 vocalist Garth Watt-Roy (the elder brother of bass player Norman Watt-Roy) was asked by the band Steamhammer to provide vocals for the final album, ''Speech'' (released in 1972 and produced by former Yardbirds vocalist Keith Relf). Andromeda (English Band)
Andromeda were an English psychedelic rock group, that formed in 1966.Larkin C 'Virgin Encyclopedia of Sixties Music' (Muze UK Ltd, 1997) ) p13 However, soon after formation, the band changed lineup, and led by John Du Cann a new line-up recorded their eponymous album in 1969 with backing vocals by Eddie Dyche. The group split upon Du Cann's departure to join Atomic Rooster in 1970. Du Cann, Hawksworth, and Collins also comprised the one-off studio band The Five Day Week Straw People. Hawksworth later briefly joined Killing Floor and was a member of Fuzzy Duck. In September 2017, a copy of their first album sold for over £1,000 (US$1,200) on Discogs. Steamhammer are an English rock band from Worthing, England, formed in 1968 by vocalist Kieran White, guitarists Martin Quittenton and Martin Pugh, bassist Steve Davy, and drummer Michael Rushton. Career Steamhammer's first line-up acted as backing band for Freddie King on two of his tours of England in 1968–1969. Like many of their peers, the band experimented with instrumental passages, introspective lyrics, and ultrasonic guitar effects, along with folk, jazz and classical influences. Q-Tips were a blue-eyed soul and new wave rock band from Britain, first formed in 1979 from the remnants of the rock group Streetband. Streetband Apart from the novelty song " Toast", a B-side made successful from heavy airplay by Capital Radio’s Kenny Everett, Streetband had failed to find any commercial success with their two albums ''London'' and ''Dilemma'' (both released in 1979). Drummer Chalky and guitarist Roger Kelly departed, leaving the remaining trio of Paul Young on vocals, Mick Pearl on bass guitar, and guitarist John Gifford. Gaynor Sullivan (née Hopkins; born 8 June 1951), known professionally as Bonnie Tyler, is a Welsh singer. Known for her distinctive husky voice, Tyler came to prominence with the release of her 1977 album '' The World Starts Tonight'' and its singles " Lost in France" and " More Than a Lover". ''Goodbye to the Island'' is the fourth studio album by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, issued in January 1981, her final album for RCA Records. Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe wrote the majority of songs for the album, and co-produced the record with Hugh Murphy. Music critics described the album as "more upbeat" than her previous album ''Diamond Cut'' (1979). ''Goodbye to the Island'' had the weakest sales of all albums Tyler released through RCA, only charting in Norway at number 38. William Keith Relf (22 March 194312 May 1976) was an English musician, best known as the lead vocalist and harmonica player for rock band the Yardbirds. He then formed the band Renaissance with his sister Jane Relf, the Yardbirds ex-drummer Jim McCarty and ex- The Nashville Teens keyboardist John Hawken. Early life Relf was born in the Richmond Institution on 22 March 1943 to Mary Elsie Vickers and William Arthur Percy Relf. Keith had a sister Jane. His father was a builder, while his mother was a housewife. Musical career Relf started playing in bands around the summer of 1956 as a singer, guitarist, and harmonica player.
