Future Thought Productions
Future Thought Productions is a creative animation studio that creates, produces or contributes to film, television, web and mobile animation. It is amongst the first studios in the world to have employed Macromedia's Flash software for the UNICEF television series ''Meena'', with veteran Indian animator Ram Mohan in 2002. The show was a UNICEF effort to empower the girl child in South Asia and provide valuable education concerning problems related to the developing nation's children. The character has become a role model for girls in South Asia. Thereafter, Future Thought was involved in a global effort to produce a series of public service announcements (PSAs) that would promote the prevention of HIV-AIDS through twenty comic, humorous shorts named ''The Three Amigos''. Meena (character)
Meena is a fictional character who stars in the South Asian children's television show ''Meena'' created by UNICEF. The show is broadcast in the English, Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, and Urdu languages. Meena educates the children of South Asia on issues of gender, health, and social inequality through her stories in comic books, animated films, and radio series (affiliated with the BBC). Secondary characters of her stories include her brother Raju and her pet parrot Mithu. Ram Mohan
Ram Mohan (26 August 1931 – 11 October 2019) was an Indian animator, title designer and design educator, who was also known as father of Indian Animation and was a veteran in the Indian animation industry, who started his career at the Cartoon Films Unit, Films Division of India, Government of India in 1956. He was chairman and chief creative officer at Graphiti Multimedia, a Mumbai-based animation company which was established in 1995, and later he also established the Graphiti School of Animation in 2006. He had won the National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Animation Film twice, ''You Said It'' ( 1972) and ''Fire Games'' ( 1983). Desmond Tutu
Desmond Mpilo Tutu (7 October 193126 December 2021) was a South African Anglican bishop and theologian, known for his work as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist. He was Bishop of Johannesburg from 1985 to 1986 and then Archbishop of Cape Town from 1986 to 1996, in both cases being the first black African to hold the position. Theologically, he sought to fuse ideas from black theology with African theology. Tutu was born of mixed Xhosa and Motswana heritage to a poor family in Klerksdorp, South Africa. Entering adulthood, he trained as a teacher and married Nomalizo Leah Tutu, with whom he had several children. Crime Time is a series of animated shorts produced by Future Thought Productions, produced by Jay Zaveri and Steve Kasper, directed by Nassos Vakalis Premise Shifty (The Criminal) perpetrates crimes from the sublime to the ridiculous - and never quite pulls them off, resulting in hilarious consequences. It is rendered in a graphic style reminiscent of classic UPA shorts. Crime Time gives the viewer a brief but comical look at the irony of crime. Taking on the spirit of old-world cartoons, the series uses sight gags and pacing to bring about a comedic scenario.
