Funeral Stomp
"Funeral Stomp" is a song by English singer Robert Lloyd, released in 1990 as the lead single from his debut solo studio album '' Me and My Mouth''. The song was written by Lloyd and Mark Tibenham, and was produced by Andy Richards. Background Lloyd embarked on a solo career after the Nightingales disbanded in 1986 and formed a new backing band, the New Four Seasons. Prior to being recorded, "Funeral Stomp" was performed during a BBC Radio 1 session for John Peel on 31 January 1989. In 1989, Lloyd signed with Virgin Records as a solo artist and spent that summer recording a solo studio album. "Funeral Stomp" was released as the album's lead single on 26 March 1990. It failed to reach the top 100 of the UK Singles Chart, but did spend a week at number 18 on ''Music Weeks 'The Other Chart'. Robert Lloyd (Nightingales)
Robert Lloyd (born 5 June 1959) is the lead singer with The Nightingales and formerly with The Prefects. When The Nightingales split in 1986, Lloyd embarked on a solo career, initially signing to In-Tape before signing to Virgin Records in 1989 and releasing the album ''Me and My Mouth'' (1990). The album featured Steve Nieve and Pete Thomas (drummer), Pete Thomas (of The Attractions), Andy Scott (of The Sweet, Sweet) and Craig Gannon (formerly of The Smiths among others), but for the tour to promote the album, Lloyd had to recruit a new band which included former Nightingales guitarist Peter 'The Tank' Byrchmore (who also played on the album).Larkin, Colin (ed.) Luís Jardim
Luís Alberto Figueira Gonçalves Jardim (born 4 July 1950) is a Portuguese percussionist born on the island of Madeira. He is best known for his work with producer Trevor Horn. Family Jardim is a cousin of Alberto João Jardim (former president of the regional government of Madeira). He was married to former Buggles vocalist Linda Jardim-Allen until her death in 2015. Musical work Jardim's career includes music composition, production, arrangements, and studio work. He took part in the UK selection process for the ''Eurovision Song Contest 1981'', fronting the group 'Headache' in the ''A Song for Europe'' contest broadcast on BBC1. The ''North Wales Weekly News'' is one of a group of newspapers published weekly in Llandudno. History The newspaper was first published on 14 February 1889 by local printer Robert Evans Jones as the ''Weekly News and Visitors’ Chronicle for Colwyn Bay, Colwyn, Llandrillo, Conway, Deganway and Neighbourhood'', a four-page broadsheet which cost 1d. Jones' brother William built a new printworks in 1900 on Conwy Quay, where the ''Weekly News'' continued to be published until May 1972 when it moved to new purpose-built premises in Llandudno Junction; shortly afterwards it abandoned hot metal typesetting in favour of computerised printing; later technological developments allowed copy to be transmitted to the printworks from branch offices elsewhere in North Wales.
