Fundación Italia
The Fundación Italia is a cultural institution from Rosario, Argentina. It was created in 1985 to "promote arts, science and technique", by people who boast a "cultural bond with Italy". Although most of the people that work in the organization are Italian Argentines, the institution's activities are far from being restricted to Italian culture, being orientated to widen Rosario's cultural life. The Fundacion Italia has sponsored successful musical interpretations in Rosario, such as Requiem, by Giuseppe Verdi, Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini and Napoli in Concerto, a Neapolitan music compilation. In 2007 begun a seminary of classic literature, the first one being Homer, that will be followed by Virgil in 2008 and Dante Alighieri in 2009. Rosario () is the largest city in the central provinces of Argentina, Argentine province of Santa Fe Province, Santa Fe. Carlos Alberto "Lole" Reutemann (12 April 1942 – 7 July 2021) was an Argentine racing driver and politician, who competed in Formula One from to and served as the Governor of Santa Fe from 1999 to 2003. Reutemann was runner-up in the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in with Williams and—at the time of his retirement—held the record for most podium finishes (45); he won 12 Grands Prix across 11 seasons. A member of the Justicialist Party, he was a National Senator for Santa Fe from 2003 until his death in 2021. Alfonso Prat-Gay (born 24 November 1965) is an Argentine economist and politician. Following the election of Mauricio Macri to the presidency on 2015, he became Minister of Economy. He was also President of the Central Bank of Argentina from December 2002 to September 2004, and was elected National Deputy for the Civic Coalition in the 2009 elections. A decade later, as Minister of Economy in the Macri administration, he lifted four-year-old capital controls on the Argentine currency, a mere six days after taking office. Mario Ernesto O'Donnell Ure (born 28 October 1941), known professionally as "Pacho O'Donnell", is an Argentine writer, politician, historian and physician who specializes in psychoanalysis. Career After the return to democracy in Argentina in 1983, he was named Secretary of Culture of the city of Buenos Aires. He ran unsuccessfully for the 1988 presidential nomination in the Radical Civic Union primaries, but later became a Peronist and was elected to the Argentine Senate for the city of Buenos Aires in 1998. Félix César Luna (30 September 1925 – 5 November 2009) was an Argentine writer, lyricist and historian. Life Luna was born in Buenos Aires to a family originally from La Rioja in 1925. A grandfather had founded the La Rioja chapter of the newly established centrist Radical Civic Union (UCR) in 1892, and an uncle, Pelagio Luna, had been Vice President of Argentina for President Hipólito Yrigoyen, between 1916 and 1919. He enrolled at the University of Buenos Aires and earned a law degree in 1951. He was first published in 1954 with his biographical work ''Yrigoyen''. Roberto Miguel Lifschitz (13 September 1955 – 9 May 2021) was an Argentine politician and civil engineer of the Socialist Party (Argentina), Socialist Party who was Governor of Santa Fe, Governor of Santa Fe Province from 2015 to 2019. Ricardo Froilán Lagos Escobar (; born 2 March 1938) is a Chilean lawyer, economist and social-democratic politician who served as president of Chile from 2000 to 2006. Luis Alberto Lacalle de Herrera (; ''Lacalle'' locally or ; born 13 July 1941) is a Uruguayan politician and lawyer who served as the 36th president of Uruguay from 1990 to 1995.
