Lever
A lever is a simple machine consisting of a beam (structure), beam or rigid rod pivoted at a fixed hinge, or '':wikt:fulcrum, fulcrum''. A lever is a rigid body capable of rotating on a point on itself. On the basis of the locations of fulcrum, load, and effort, the lever is divided into Lever#Types of levers, three types. It is one of the six simple machines identified by Renaissance scientists. A lever amplifies an input force to provide a greater output force, which is said to provide leverage, which is mechanical advantage gained in the system, equal to the ratio of the output force to the input force. The Mikoyan MiG-29 (; NATO reporting name: Fulcrum) is a twin-engine fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. Developed by the Mikoyan design bureau as an air superiority fighter during the 1970s, the MiG-29, along with the larger Sukhoi Su-27, was developed to counter U.S. fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The paper dates back to 1942 and co-exists on the bilingual campus with '' La Rotonde'', the University of Ottawa's French newspaper. Fulcrum (drumming)
Fulcrum is a drumming term. Traditionally, the fulcrum refers to the part of a percussionist's grip that is the main lever for the drum stick to rotate. This is usually created by the thumb and index finger, the thumb and middle finger, or a combination of the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Fulcrum and lever definitions Fingers If one consciously locks their wrist, elbow, and shoulder so that they remain stationary, the only degree of freedom left to move the stick is the finger lever. The fulcrum, or point of rotation, will be located approximately where the pad of the thumb meets the stick. Fulcrum is a think tank based around the evangelical centre-ground of the Church of England. Formed in 2002, ''Fulcrum'' aims to renew the moderate centre of the evangelical tradition in the Church of England.
