Fukien Christian University
Fujian Normal University () is a public university in Fuzhou, China. FNU has been hailed as the Fujian province's "Cradle of teachers." History Tracing its origin back to Fujian Superior Normal School, founded in 1907, Fujian Normal University (FNU) is Fujian's oldest university and one of China's most time-honored teachers’ colleges. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the school (which had been renamed Fujian Provincial Normal College) merged in 1953 with Fukian Christian University and Hua Nan Women's College to form a new and significantly expanded Fujian Normal College. The Fukian Christian University was founded by the Church Missionary Society in the Fukian Mission where Constance Bryant was the administrator. FNU acquired its current name in 1972. Huang Weiyuan
Huang Weiyuan (; December 15, 1921 – November 17, 2015) was a Chinese organic chemist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He served as President of the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry and President of the Chinese Chemical Society. Early life and education Huang was born in Putian, Fujian, China on December 15, 1921. He graduated from Fukien Christian University in 1943 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. After earning his MS in 1949 from Lingnan University in Guangzhou, he entered Harvard University and received his Ph.D. in 1952. His graduate advisor was the organic chemist Louis Fieser. Zhu Wenxiang (; born December 1963) is a lieutenant general in the People's Armed Police Force of China. He is a representative of the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and an alternate of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Zhu was born in Xingguo County, Jiangxi, in December 1963. He attended Pingchuan High School and graduated from Fujian Normal University. Yu Songlie (; 13 March 1921 – 20 April 2016) was a Chinese agricultural scientist, educator and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). He is known as one of the founders of wheat cultivation science in China. Biography Yu was born in Cixi County, Zhejiang. He obtained a bachelor's degree of agronomy from Fukien Christian University in 1942. He became a teaching assistant in Fukien Provincial Agriculture College, Fukien Christian University and Shanghai Nantong College after his graduation.
