The 2018 African Women's Handball Championship was the 23rd edition of the African Women's Handball Championship, which took place from 2 to 12 December 2018 in Brazzaville, Congo. The 2019 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 24th event hosted by the International Handball Federation, was held in Japan from 30 November to 15 December 2019. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team.
