Frunzik Mkrtchyan
Mher Musheghi Mkrtchyan ( hy, Մհեր Մուշեղի Մկրտչյան; 4 July 1930 – 29 December 1993), better known by the name Frunzik ( hy, Ֆրունզիկ; russian: Фрунзик), was an Armenian stage and film actor. Mkrtchyan is widely considered one of the greatest actors of the Soviet period among Armenians and the USSR as a whole. He received the prestigious People's Artist of the USSR award in 1984. Life Childhood Mher "Frunzik" Mkrtchyan was born in Leninakan (present day Gyumri) to father Mushegh Mkrtchyan and mother Sanam Mkrtchyan, both of whom were orphaned survivors of the Armenian genocide. We and Our Mountains ( hy, Մենք ենք, մեր սարերը; russian: Мы и наши горы) is a 1969 Armenian comedy film directed by Henrik Malyan and starring Azat Sherents, Frunzik Mkrtchyan and Sos Sargsyan. It is widely considered to be one of the best Armenian films ever made. Plot The film revolves around a comical story of four unlucky shepherds living high in the mountains of Armenia. One day for dinner they have a feast of the neighbour's sheep, which had come to their flock. The shepherds easily agree on ransom with the former master of the sheep. However, a serious young policeman, despite the protests of his friends, starts a case of embezzlement of sheep and tries to give the incident an official move, interfering with a profitable deal. ''Aybolit-66'' (russian: Айболит-66) is a 1966 Soviet family comedy film directed by Rolan Bykov. It is based on a story by Kornei Chukovsky. The film features Oleg Yefremov as the good ''Aibolit'' and Rolan Bykov as the evil ''Barmalei''. Plot In Africa, monkeys have become sick. The news was reported to Dr. Aybolit by Monkey Chi-Chi, but Barmalei with his gang are attempting to hamper their plan. At first they seize the doctor's ship on the sea and throw out Dr. Aybolit. At the end, the robbers by order of chief Barmalei collect all the local pirates on the river bank. In conclusion the good doctor manages to overpower Barmalei using drugs and cures the monkeys. Vardan Mkrtchi Ajemian ( hy, Վարդան Մկրտչի Աճեմյանը; September 15, 1905 in Van, Ottoman Empire – January 24, 1977 in Yerevan, Soviet Armenia) was an Armenian theatrical director and actor. He was named People's Artist of USSR in 1965 and Hero of Socialist Labour in 1975. Biography Ajemian studied in Yerevan and Moscow. In 1928 he founded the Second Armenian State Theatre (Gyumri State Theatre). In 1939 he moved to Yerevan Sundukian Theatre and became its artistic director.
