Frontline Song And Dance Troupe
The Frontline Song and Dance Troupe (前线歌舞团; pinyin: Qiánxiàn Gēwǔtuán) founded 1946 in Nanjing, officially named in 1955, is a dance song and theatre troupe of the East China command of the People's Liberation Army. The troupe was the testing ground and originator of many of the patriotic and revolutionary plays and musicals of the 1960s-1980s. East China
East China () is a geographical and a loosely defined cultural region that covers the eastern coastal area of China. A concept abolished in 1978, for economical purposes the region was defined from 1949 to 1961 by the Chinese Central Government to include the provinces of (in alphabetical order) Anhui, Fujian, Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang, as well as the municipality of Shanghai. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The PLA consists of five service branches: the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, Rocket Force, and Strategic Support Force.
