Frontier Revenge
''Frontier Revenge'' is a 1948 American Western film written and directed by Ray Taylor and starring Lash LaRue and Al "Fuzzy" St. John. The film is a remake of Ray Taylor's ''Panamint's Bad Man'' (1938). Filmed at the Corriganville Movie Ranch, the film is neither set on a frontier nor is any revenge depicted. Extensive footage from this film was reused along with the return of Duce Rago in '' The Black Lash'' (1952). Plot Marshal Lash and Deputy Fuzzy impersonate an outlaw duo from Texas named the Dawsons in order to stop a series of robberies. Ray Taylor (director)
Raymond Edgar Taylor (1 December 1888 – 15 February 1952) was an American film director. He directed 159 films between 1926 and 1949. His debut was the 1926 film serial '' Fighting with Buffalo Bill''. Ray Taylor was one of the few Hollywood directors who specialized in a single type of film: he was an action specialist. Many action directors would be called upon at one time or another to direct a mainstream drama, romance, or mystery, but Ray Taylor established himself early in westerns and action fare, and he worked in this capacity throughout his career. Even a brief tenure directing the campus-capers "Collegians" shorts for Universal was appropriate for Taylor, as these two-reel subjects often emphasized visual action. Sarah Ann Padden (16 October 1881 – 4 December 1967) was an English-born American theatre and film character actress. She performed on stage in the early 20th century. Her best-known single-act performance was in ''The Clod'', a stage production in which she played an uneducated woman who lived on a farm during the American Civil War. Early life Born in England to an Irish immigrant father, Michael Padden, and an English mother, the family emigrated to the United States on the S/S ''Ohio'' from England passing through the Port of Philadelphia in 1889. James Shorttel Bannon (April 9, 1911 – July 28, 1984) was an American actor and radio announcer known for his work on the '' I Love a Mystery'' and '' Red Ryder'' series during the 1940s and 1950s. Early life Born in 1911 in Kansas City, Missouri, Bannon attended Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst University, where he played football, baseball, and polo. In 1944, he was ineligible (classified 4-F) for World War II service, owing to an ulcer, so served as a civilian flight instructor.
