Fritjof Lager
Karl Fritjof Lager (born October 1, 1905, Berga, Kronobergs län, died February 22, 1973) was a Swedish communist politician. Lager was born to a peasant family in Småland. He studied at Brunnsviks folkhögskola between 1926 and 1928. Lager was the party secretary of the Communist Party of Sweden 1933 to 1937, and 1948 to 1951. He held various editorial positions in the communist press. Kronobergs Län
Kronoberg County (; ) is a county or ''län'' in southern Sweden. Kronoberg is one of three counties in the province of Småland. It borders the counties of Skåne, Halland, Jönköping, Kalmar, and Blekinge. Its capital is the city of Växjö. While Kronoberg is an inland county, the southernmost fringes are about from the coastline. Province Geographically, Kronoberg County is situated in the southern part of the province of Småland. It received its present borders in 1687 when Jönköping County was separated from the former Jönköping and Kronoberg County. Småland () is a historical Provinces of Sweden, province () in southern Sweden. Småland borders Blekinge, Scania, Halland, Västergötland, Östergötland and the island Öland in the Baltic Sea. Left Party (Sweden)
The Left Party ( , V) is a socialist political party in Sweden. On economic issues, the party opposes privatisations and advocates for increased public expenditures. In foreign policy, the party is Eurosceptic, being critical of the European Union, NATO and opposing Sweden’s entry into the eurozone. It attempted to get Sweden to join the Non-Aligned Movement in 1980, but did not succeed. The party is eco-socialist, and supports republicanism. It stands on the left-wing of the political spectrum. The party has never been part of a government at the national level; however, it has lent parliamentary support to governments led in the Riksdag by the Swedish Social Democratic Party.
