Frithjof Jacobsen (journalist)
Frithjof Halfdan Jacobsen (14 January 1914 – 14 March 1999) was a Norwegian diplomat. He was born in South Shields as a son of shipmaster and navy captain Carl Gustav Jacobsen (1878–1941) and Frida Mørch (1878–1968). He returned to Norway, where he finished his secondary education in 1932 before studying law at the University of Oslo. He graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1937 and studied at the London School of Economics before being hired in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1938. He served as an attaché at the Norwegian legation in Paris, and had to flee the country in June 1940. In October he reached London, where he worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-in-exile. Norway had been occupied by Germany. In October 1941 in London he married captain's daughter Elsa Tidemand Andersen. South Shields () is a coastal town in South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England; it is on the south bank of the mouth of the River Tyne. Rolf Trygve Busch (15 November 1920 – 18 December 2016) was a Norwegian diplomat and ambassador. He was born at Spydeberg in Østfold, Norway. He was the son of Aksel Busch (1887-1948) and Alette Tunby (1885–1977). He was awarded his cand.jur. degree from the University of Oslo in 1946. He was hired in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1947, and was promoted to assistant secretary in 1960 and sub-director in 1963. Paul Gruda Koht (7 December 1913 – 26 March 2002) was a Norwegian diplomat. Personal life He was born in Bærum as a son of Halvdan Koht (1873–1965) and Karen Grude Koht 1871–1960. He was a brother of Åse Gruda Skard. He was a grandson of Paul Steenstrup Koht and Martin Adolf Grude, and through his sister he was a brother-in-law of Sigmund Skard and uncle of Halvdan Skard, Målfrid Grude Flekkøy and Torild Skard. In January 1938 he married architect Grete Sverdrup (1913–1996). Career He finished his secondary education at Stabekk in 1932, and graduated from the University of Oslo (Royal Frederick University) in 1938 with the cand.jur. degree. Petter Graver
Petter Graver (30 May 1920 – 21 January 1995) was a Norwegian jurist who first served as a diplomat from 1947 to 1988, then as a lawyer until his death. He was the Norwegian ambassador to several countries, among them Israel and the Soviet Union. Early life and career He was born in Tinn as a son of politician and accountant Torjus Graver. His father was hired as head of accounting in the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions in 1933, and the family moved to Bærum. In 1954 Petter Graver married Siren Hognestad. They had a daughter and two sons, among them the law professor and dean Hans Petter Graver. As a teenager he became active in the Labour Party. He became chair of the Workers' Youth League in Bærum, and also board member in Bærum Labour Party in 1939.
