''Frisco Lil'' is a 1942 American drama film directed by Erle C. Kenton and written by George Bricker and Michael Jacoby. The film stars Irene Hervey, Kent Taylor, Minor Watson, Jerome Cowan, Samuel S. Hinds and Milburn Stone. The film was released on March 13, 1942, by Universal Pictures. Plot Law student Lillian Grayson has to interrupt her studies when her casino operating father gets accused of murdering someone. In order to clear his name she goes undercover as dealer in a gambling casino so she can get the information she needs. Claire Whitney
Claire Whitney (May 6, 1890 – August 27, 1969) was an American stage and film actress who appeared in 111 films between 1912 and 1949. Only 21 of these films survive, as most have been lost. Whitney gained early acting experience with a stock theater company in Massachusetts, following which she toured the United States in a vaudeville production of ''Little Mother''. Whitney made her first film in 1913 for Solax and continued making films until 1921, mainly for Fox Film Corporation. Whitney came back to films in 1926 with a role in ''The Great Gatsby'' which would be her final silent film. She continued working in film between 1931 and 1949 when she retired. Harry Strang (December 13, 1892 – April 10, 1972) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 500 films and television shows between 1929 and 1965. On Broadway, Strang appeared in ''The Girl in the Train'' (1910). Primarily a character actor, Strang often appeared in film roles that included clerks in stores, policemen on beats, and soldiers. Emmett Earl Lynn (February 14, 1897 – October 20, 1958) was an American actor of the stage and screen. Early life Lynn was born in Muscatine, Iowa. When he was nine years old, Lynn became a song plugger in Denver, Colorado. From that beginning he moved to performing in a children's revue. Gus Edwards spotted Lynn and put him in a production of Edwards' ''School Days''. Lynn served in the Army during World War I.
