Friendly is a settlement near Sowerby Bridge in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England, lying on the A646 road (Great Britain), A646 road in the valley of the River Calder, West Yorkshire, River Calder. Friendly Center is a large, open-air mall located in northwestern Greensboro, North Carolina, near the interchange of Wendover Avenue and Friendly Avenue. The anchor stores at Friendly Center are Belk, Macy's and Harris Teeter. History The shopping center opened in August 1957, and with its inward orientation, Friendly Center could be classified as an outdoor lifestyle center. Friendly TV was a British television channel, owned by Hi2 Limited. Much of the channel's output was made up of interactive programmes and games which allowed user participation by phone or mobile phone using SMS messaging. The channel was widely regarded as a pioneer in the low budget user generated content that accelerated the transition to online tv. The channel was launched in 2003 on Sky Digital channel 268 and received immediate criticism for its poor content. Friendly is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, with an African-American majority population, located a few miles south of Washington, D.C. The population was 9,937 at the 2020 census. Friendly had its own rural post office in the early 20th century, and is now under the mailing address Fort Washington. The name "Friendly" is most associated with Friendly High School, which serves most of the greater Fort Washington area. The Friendly area was largely rural until about 1960 and has steadily grown with single-family housing developments.
