Friedrich Julius Schilsky
Friedrich Julius Schilsky (1848–1912) was a German entomologist. He was secretary of the Entomological Society of Berlin. His principal work was a catalogue of German beetles ''Systematisches Verzeichnis der Käfer Deutschlands, mit besonderer Berücksichtigung ihrer geographischen Verbreitung. Zugleich ein Käfer-Verzeichnis der Mark Brandenburg'' (Berlin, 1888). In 1894, he continued ''Die Käfer Europas'' started by Heinrich Carl Küster (1807–1876), briefly succeeded by Ernst Gustav Kraatz (1831–1909) and Ernest August Hellmuth von Kiesenwetter Ernst August Hellmuth von Kiesenwetter (5 November 1820 Dresden – 18 March 1880 in Dresden) was a German entomologist who specialised in beetles. Entomologist
Entomology () is the scientific study of insects, a branch of zoology. In the past the term "insect" was less specific, and historically the definition of entomology would also include the study of animals in other arthropod groups, such as arachnids, myriapods, and crustaceans. Ernst Gustav Kraatz
Ernst Gustav Kraatz (13 March 1831 – 2 November 1909) was a German entomologist. He collected and described numerous beetles including Staphylinidae. Kraatz was born in Berlin on 13 March 1831. He studied law in the University of Heidelberg and at the University of Bonn but found no interest in it and through the influence of Carl August Dohrn he shifted to study entomology at the University of Berlin and later became was a professor. The Natural History Museum (german: Museum für Naturkunde) is a natural history museum located in Berlin, Germany.
