Fridhemsplan is a square at the intersection of Fridhemsgatan and Drottningholmsvägen in the districts of Kungsholmen and Marieberg in Stockholm, Sweden. Description The name Fridhemsplan was given 1935, after the major street ''Fridhemsgatan'' crossing the area. Before that, the area was simply known as Kungsholmen toll station. At Fridhemsplan metro station, the blue and the green lines of the Stockholm Metro intersect. The green line had a station on Fridhemsplan, and in 1975, the blue line was completed. The adjacent shopping mall, Västermalmsgallerian, was inaugurated on 23 August 2002. It targets young middle-class customers of the surrounding area. The shopping centre is in a renovated building from the 1970s and replaced the underground "square" at the intersection of Sankt Eriksgatan and Fleminggatan Streets. Fridhemsplan Metro Station
Fridhemsplan metro station is a station of the Stockholm metro, located in the district of Kungsholmen. The station is entirely underground and provides an interchange between the Blue and Green lines. There are two platforms for each line, about a hundred metres apart. To the south-west of the station a tunnel between the blue and green lines provides the only connection for trains to be moved onto and off the blue line. The green line platforms were opened on 26 October 1952 as a part of the stretch between Hötorget and Vällingby. and are around under the ground. The distance to Slussen is . Stockholm Metro
The Stockholm metro ( sv, Stockholms tunnelbana) is a rapid transit system in Stockholm, Sweden. The first line opened in 1950, and today the system has 100 stations in use, of which 47 are underground and 53 above ground. There are three coloured lines, as shown on the tube maps, which form seven numbered routes with different termini. Routes numbered 17, 18 and 19 (green line), 13 and 14 (red line) and 10 and 11 (blue line) all go through the centre of the city, resulting in a very centralized system. Västermalmsgallerian
Västermalmsgallerian is a shopping centre in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, Sweden, inaugurated on 23 August 2002. The shopping centre is located in a renovated building dating from the 1970s in the city block "Trossen" near the Fridhemsplan metro station at the intersection of the Sankt Eriksgatan and Fleminggatan streets. The name Västermalmsgallerian comes from Västermalm, an alternative name for the district of Kungsholmen. The shopping centre is the first shopping centre in Kungsholmen, including shops for fashion, interior decoration and food. It has a total area of 10'000 m², and includes 45 shops of various sizes and international retail chains. The shopping centre was owned by Centrumkompaniet, a daughter company of the municipal Familjebostäder, until 2007. In 2007 the city of Stockholm decided to sell the whole shopping centre to the British housing company Boultbee. In December 2011 AMF Fastigheter bought the shopping centre. The Swedish Tourist Association ( sv, Svenska Turistföreningen, ; abbreviated STF), founded in 1885, aims at promoting outdoor life and knowledge among the Swedes about their country. The Association maintains a variety of trails, huts and hostels in different parts of Sweden. It became known for the creation of Kungsleden, a 440 kilometer long hiking trail in Lapland, through one of Europe's largest remaining wilderness areas. The association has approximately 300,000 members, employing about 500 people of which 400 for seasonal work, for instance as landlords for 45 fell huts and 10 larger fell hostels.
