Frida – The Mixes
''Frida – The Mixes'' is a remix album by Swedish singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad, under the name of Frida, from her 1996 album ''Djupa andetag''. This album was released exclusively in Germany in 1998. It was compiled by Stefan Bürger who was keen of the idea providing the mixes used, as bonus tracks to fans outside Sweden. Track listing All tracks written by Anders Glenmark. Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad (born 15 November 1945), also known simply as Frida, is a Swedish singer who is best known as one of the founding members and lead singers of the pop band ABBA. Courtesy titles ''Principality of Reuss-Gera, Princess Reuss'' and ''Countess of Plauen'' are also in use because of her third marriage. Born in Bjørkåsen (in Ballangen Municipality), Norway, to a Norwegian mother and a German father, she grew up in Torshälla, Sweden, and started her first solo career there, as a jazz singer in 1967, through a talent competition called ''New Faces''. She won the competition with her song "En ledig dag", leading to a television appearance on ''Hylands Hörna'' on Dagen H; as a result, she was signed by EMI, and in turn was signed by Stig Anderson's record label, Polar Music, after years of releasing several singles and an album, ''Frida (album), Frida'', under the earlier record label. Anders Glenmark
Gert Anders Glenmark (born 20 November 1953) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He is the brother of singer Karin Glenmark and nephew of band leader Bruno Glenmark. Career Among the artists for whom Glenmark has written and produced are Eva Dahlgren, Orup, Ted Gärdestad, and Patrik Isaksson (singer), Patrik Isaksson. He has also, early on in his career, been a backing singer on solo albums by members of ABBA, such as Anni-Frid Lyngstad's ''Frida Ensam'' and Agnetha Fältskog's ''Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus'', both released in 1975. In 1976, Glenmark played lead guitar in Abba's hit single "Money, Money, Money". Frida 1967–1972
''Frida 1967–1972'' is a compilation album by Swedish singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad, released in 1997 by EMI Sweden. The album features Lyngstad's anthology of her solo recordings prior to ABBA, which includes the A and B sides of ten 7" singles, and rare television and radio performances from this period, as well as her debut album, ''Frida''. Background On 3 September 1967, Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad won the national Swedish song contest "New Faces", arranged by record company EMI and held at Skansen, Stockholm. The first prize was a recording contract with EMI Sweden. A secret for the winner, not known to Frida, was to perform the song live in a major TV show the same evening. This happened on the same day Sweden went from driving on the left hand to the right hand. That Sunday evening in September 1967, Frida sang her winning song " En ledig dag" in the TV show.
