Frenship High School
Frenship High School is a public high school located in Wolfforth, Texas, United States. It is classified as a 6A school by the UIL. The school serves students in grades 10–12 from Wolfforth, parts of western Lubbock, and southwest Lubbock County, as well as a small eastern portion of Hockley County. In 2015, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. Naming confusion When Wolfforth School District was unified with three other rural districts (Carlisle, Hurlwood and Foster) in 1935, they applied for the name "Friendship Independent School District". The application was rejected as the name was already taken by a Houston-area school district; thus, officials opted for the name Frenship. John David Thomas (born July 5, 1983) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). The Houston Cougars football program is an NCAA Division I FBS football team that represents the University of Houston. The team is commonly referred to as "Houston" or "UH." Glen Dee Hardin (born April 18, 1939) is an American piano player and arranger. He has performed and recorded with such artists as Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, John Denver, and Ricky Nelson. Kendal Briles
Kendal Briles (born November 10, 1982) is an American football coach. He is the offensive coordinator for Texas Christian University. Playing career In his junior year of high school, Briles led Stephenville High School to a 16-0 record and the 1999 Texas 4A State Championship while playing for his father. That year he won the Texas 4A Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-state quarterback. He transferred to Wolfforth Frenship High as a senior when his father took an assistant coaching job at Texas Tech and was again named the Texas 4A Offensive Player of the Year.
