History Founded in 1923 as the West Side Union High School District, the district served the agricultural Fremont Township in the West Valley (California), West Valley region, and still serves the regions covered by the former Township today. It originally had only one school (called West Side Union High School), which operated in a few rooms of the Sunnyvale Grammar School building, before relocating to the intersection of Fremont Avenue and Highway 9 (now Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road). Monta Vista High School
Monta Vista High School is a four-year public high school in Cupertino, California. Part of the Fremont Union High School District, the school serves most of the area of western Cupertino. In 2020, Monta Vista was ranked by ''Newsweek'' as the 69th best high school for STEM subjects in the United States. As of 2024, Asian Americans comprise 78.6% of the student body. Cupertino High School, colloquially referred to as "Tino", "CHS", is a four-year comprehensive public high school located near the Rancho Rinconada and Fairgrove neighborhoods of Cupertino, California, USA. Fremont is currently the only open public high school located in the city of Sunnyvale and is part of the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD). History Fremont High School was originally named West Side Union High School, the first school opened in the West Side Union High School District. Rancho Rinconada is a residential neighborhood in the eastern part of Cupertino, California. It is bordered by Saratoga Creek (just west of Lawrence Expressway), Stevens Creek Boulevard, Miller Avenue and Bollinger Road.
