Free World Military Forces
Free World Military Assistance Forces (FWMAF also known as Free World Military Forces or FWMF) was the group of allied nations who sent troops to fight in the Vietnam War under the FWMF banner, assisting South Vietnam against North Vietnam and the Viet Cong (VC). Together with South Vietnamese, the FWMF were often referred to as the Allies. It did not include anti-communist armies in Laos and Cambodia that also supported South Vietnam and fought native communists supported by North Vietnam. The Capital Mechanized Infantry Division (, hanja: 首都機械化步兵師團), also known as Fierce Tiger Division (, hanja: 猛虎部隊), is currently one of the six mechanized infantry divisions in the Republic of Korea Army. The U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) was a joint-service command of the United States Department of Defense, composed of forces from the United States Army, United States Navy, and United States Air Force, as well as their respective special operations forces.
