Fredro Starr
Fred Lee Scruggs Jr. (born April 18, 1971), better known by his stage name Fredro Starr, is an American rapper and actor best known as a member of the hardcore rap group Onyx. Fredro Starr was discovered by the late hip hop star Jam Master Jay of Run-D.M.C. who signed Onyx on his label JMJ Records. Onyx went on to release three top selling albums before Fredro began his solo career. As a part of Onyx, Fredro Starr was nominated as "Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop New Artist" on American Music Awards of 1994 and won "Best Rap Album" on 1994 Soul Train Music Awards. Fredro Starr has starred in more than 55 films and television shows. He made his acting debut in the HBO drama '' Strapped''. His film credits include Spike Lee's '' Clockers'', '' Sunset Park'', '' Ride'', '' Light It Up'', '' Save the Last Dance'' and ''Torque''. ''Ride'' is a 1998 American comedy film written and directed by Millicent Shelton. It stars Malik Yoba, Melissa De Sousa, John Witherspoon, and Fredro Starr. Plot New York City film school graduate Leta Evans ( De Sousa) has just become the assistant to exotic music video director Bleau Kelly ( Downtown Julie Brown). She almost loses the job before her first day's barely even started when Bleau decides budget cuts must be made for her next project. Dance 360
Dance 360 (2004–2005) was a modern hip-hop television series that aired on UPN in which different dancers competed to win 360 dollars, an Xbox or a cell phone from Boost Mobile, and a Fuse Sunbird scooter. Sometimes, clothing gear from Ecko Unlimited or Meoshe Sport was awarded. It was hosted by Fredro Starr and Kel Mitchell with DJ K-Sly providing the beats for the dancers. The dancers were selected from the audience at the beginning of the show, and they competed one-on-one, with the winner going on to the next round. They were judged by the level of audience applause, according to a noise meter. In addition to the prizes awarded, the winner was also given the last few seconds of the show to give "shout-outs" to friends and family.
