Frederick Tutu Goodwin
Sir Frederick Tutu Goodwin, is a Cook Islands politician and former police officer, who was the 6th Queen's Representative to the Cook Islands. Goodwin joined the Cook Islands Police in 1956. He served as a constable, then joined the New Zealand Police Force for a short time, before returning to the Cook Islands, where he eventually rose to the rank of Police Superintendent. He was elected to the Cook Islands Parliament at the 1978 election, representing the seat of Te Au O Tonga for the Democratic Party. He served as assistant minister of energy and works in the government of Tom Davis. He then worked as a public servant, before being appointed as Queen's Representative in 2001. Democratic Party (Cook Islands)
The Democratic Party (also known for a time as the Democratic Alliance Party) is a political party in the Cook Islands. As a result of the 2018 Cook Islands election, it is currently the largest party in the Cook Islands Parliament. Early years The Democratic Party was founded by Tom Davis in 1971, in opposition to the Cook Islands Party (CIP) of Albert Henry. In the 1972 election, it won eight seats, breaking the two-thirds majority of the CIP. In 1978, it won power, with Davis becoming Prime Minister. It became one of the two primary parties of the Cook Islands, alternating in power with the CIP. Davis served as prime minister of the Cook Islands from 1978 to 1987, with a brief interruption in 1983 when the Cook Islands briefly returned to power. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. Cassey Eggelton
Cassey Tereapii Eggelton (born 26 February 1952) is a former Cook Islands politician and Cabinet Minister. Eggelton was born in Rarotonga and attended Ngatangiia Primary school and Tereora College. She worked as a hotel manager and has a long association with the Miss Cook Islands Pageant. In 2003 she was appointed Honorary French Consul to the Cook Islands. In 2004 she was invested with the chefly title ''Tara’are Mataiapo''. Political career Eggelton was elected to Parliament as a member of the Democratic Party for the seat of Matavera in the 2006 elections.
