Freddy Curiel
Freddy Curiel (born November 11, 1974) is an American professional boxer. Curiel was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic and was a contestant on the ESPN reality show, Contender Season 2. Biography Curiel began boxing as an amateur at age 14, and quickly turned professional at age 17. He ended his career in 2002, to focus on his home-improvement business, but once it was successful, he returned to the ring for practice in 2005, in the hope of making a second go at professional boxing. On the "Contender Season 2" series debut, Curiel was picked for the "Blue Team." La Vega, Dominican Republic
La Vega, officially Concepción de la Vega (Real), is the third most populous city and a municipality of the Dominican Republic. It is the provincial capital of the homonymous province. The city is known as the Carnival epicenter of the Dominican Republic for its tradition and culture, its large agricultural production methods throughout its province. ''The Contender 2'' is a reality television show based on the sport of boxing, but with an element of the (welterweight) competitor's lives and relationships with each other within the show's living quarters, based in Pasadena, California. Filmed in January and February 2006, the show began airing on July 18, 2006. The winner of ''The Contender Season 2'' was decided in a bout at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, broadcast live on September 26, 2006, winning a purse of US$500,000. Stephen Phelipe "Stevie" Forbes (born February 26, 1977) is an American professional boxer. He is a former IBF super featherweight champion. Forbes' nickname of "2Pound" was in recognition of the fact that he was born weighing only 2 pounds. Alan Sydney Minter (17 August 19519 September 2020) was a British professional boxer who competed from 1972 to 1981. He held the undisputed middleweight title in 1980, having previously held the British middleweight title from 1975 to 1976, and the European middleweight title twice between 1977 and 1979.
