Freddy Castillo
Freddy Castillo (born June 15, 1955) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1971 to 1985. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the World Boxing Council (WBC) light-flyweight title in 1978, and the WBC and ''Ring'' magazine flyweight titles in 1982. Pro career Known as "Chato Loco", Castillo turned pro in 1971 and won the WBC light flyweight title with a TKO win over Luis Estaba in 1978. He lost the belt in his first defense later that year to Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh by split decision. He later moved up in weight and in 1982 won the WBC and ''The Ring'' flyweight titles with a decision win over Prudencio Cardona. He lost the titles in his first defense to Eleoncio Mercedes by split decision. He retired in 1986 after losing to Sot Chitalada for the WBC flyweight title in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Light Flyweight
Light flyweight, also known as junior flyweight or super strawweight, is a weight class in boxing. Professional boxing The weight limit at light flyweight in professional boxing is 108 pounds (49 kilograms). When New York legalized boxing in 1920, the law stipulated a "junior flyweight" class, with a weight limit of 99 pounds. When the National Boxing Association was formed in 1921, it also recognized this weight class. However, on January 19, 1922, the NBA decided to withdraw recognition of the junior flyweight division. On December 31, 1929, the New York State Athletic Commission also abolished the junior flyweight class. No champion had been crowned in this division prior to its abolition. Guty Espadas (born December 20, 1954) is a Mexican former professional boxer who won the WBA flyweight title. He is also the father of former World Champion Guty Espadas Jr. Early life He was born to Hernan Espadas Cruz and Isabel Cruz Espadas. Professional career He became a professional boxer in 1971. WBA Flyweight Championship He won the WBA Flyweight Championship on October 2, 1976, when he knocked out Alfonso Lopez in thirteen rounds. He defended the title four times before losing it to Betulio González on August 12, 1978, via a fifteen-round majority decision. He challenged twice more for world titles, although he was unsuccessful in both tries. After his final try, a tenth-round knockout loss to Payao Poontarat in 1984, he retired. Lupe Madera
Lupe Madera (December 17, 1952 – December 3, 2005) was a Mexican professional boxer. He held the title of World Boxing Association (WBA) world junior flyweight champion from 1983 to 1984. Career Lupe Madera was born in Sotuta, Yucatán, Mexico. He turned pro in 1972 and was considered a journeyman for most of his career. In 1982, he was granted a shot at WBA light flyweight title holder Katsuo Tokashiki, but lost a split decision. The following year they fought a rematch, and the fight was ruled a draw. Three months later, they fought again, with Madera winning a technical decision after four rounds and capturing the title. Three months later, they again fought, with Madera successfully defending by winning a decision. The following year he lost the belt to Francisco Quiroz by KO, and never fought again. Juan Antonio Guzmán Batista (August 21, 1951 — May 2021), better known as Juan Guzman, was a Dominican former professional boxer and WBA world Junior Flyweight champion.
